Blue Ternate or Butterfly Pea

Greetings to all! This is my first entry in this community and I hope that this will be a good option to eliminate whatever discomforts that we may encounter in our daily lives.

The photo above is my own concoction. While it is true that we are facing a global chaotic pandemic, it is best to protect ourselves first and foremost, to defeat this deadly virus and that is to keep healthy and clean at all times.

Otherwise known as Blue Ternate, the Butterfly Pea Flower with binomial name called Clitoris Ternatea, is believed to contain the following characteristics based on several studies as stipulated in wiki.org., re: clitoria ternatea.

Benefits:

  • Analgesic
  • Anti-microbial
  • Anti-Pyretic
  • Anti-cancer/Anti-Tumor
  • Anti-Asthmatic
  • Anti-Diabetic
  • Anti HIV
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Antioxidant
  • Aphrodisiac
  • Beauty Enhancer
  • Diuretic
  • Improve Eyesight
  • Food Colorants
  • Healthy Hair Growth
  • Skin Rejuvenating

How to prepare:

  • Simply soak at least 6 flowers in hot or cold water in a mug.

  • Remove flower and set aside.

  • Drink at least once a day.

Note: Despite the blue color, I can assure you that the it's almost tasteless natural water.

BUTTERFLY PEA TEA

I buy this Butterfly Pea Tea when there are no fresh flowers around.

The tea bag has a tag description:

I would say that prevention is better than cure.

Have a nice day ahead and keep safe everyone!

Till then,

It's such a gorgeous colour, no? Appreciating this gorgeous healing flower, which (as you can see from the image) grows ABUNDANTLY in my Thai garden. I took this pic yesterday for my June Garden Journal post which will publish later today. I pick flowers EVERYday and also collect seeds for sharing - we love it also for adding to rice sometimes when we have guests, and for pretty blue-purple Thai desserts with coconut & lemongrass. I make my butterfly tea with dried lemongrass from my garden and also usually dried white turmeric. YUM.

It's good to know you're having this in your desserts. I haven't seen a white turmeric yet but one thing for sure, Asian recipes are similar with varied ingredients that made the difference. All in all, they're all good.

There are plants that are almost wild without knowing that they're just what you need! Am glad I joined this community. Lots of things to know yet.

Actually, it's tasteless just like a plain water despite the color.

I think you can find some in your place dear. It's just that we don't know its health benefits. Time to add this in our list of natural medicines.
