Ingredients for 3 persons

  • 2 cups of rice
  • 1/2 chicken trimmings
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 sprigs of scallion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 good sized sausage
  • Achiote, turmeric or something to paint the food with
  • Butter
  • Salt and pepper

We will start by crushing our garlic with a little salt and pepper until a paste is created and then we take our chicken and season it with the garlic paste we made before. We will let it take the flavor while we cut the rest of the ingredients into squares.

Now we will sauté the onion first until it becomes transparent and then we will add the scallion and the chili.

Then proceed to add the chicken and sauté it with the other ingredients. We can add a little butter to give it more flavor and the achiote or turmeric to give it color.

When the chicken starts to look white and loses its gray color it is ready to add the rice. We will sauté it all together and add 4 cups of water; we raise the heat to high so that the water boils quickly, when it does we lower it to low heat until the rice begins to dry and when it begins to peek out we cover it and leave it on low heat.

And our delicious rice with chicken is ready in no time!

Hola Andrea.
Me gusto.
Gracias por compartir.
Felicidades.

You know... this made me hungry, and I actually have some chicken noodle soup to eat for dinner! I also like that you used turmeric, as I love the flavor and beneficial antiinflammatory products it possesses. I'm curious; when my better half prepares chicken, she takes each chicken breast and cuts all of the fat and skin off so there's just chicken. Do you do that as well? I know fat gives flavor, but sometimes when I am eating meat, it kind of grosses me out to get that sinew consistency in my mouth lol. This was an awesome post and recipe... I bet everyone loved it!

Yes, I like to use turmeric, I didn't know it before but my dad taught me how to use it the last time I visited him and indeed it gives a rich flavor to the food. And answering your question I try to remove all the fat since I don't like to cook it with that and then remove it already cooked with my hands although I have read that in some dishes they recommend to leave them so that the chicken is juicy inside but personally I don't like it very much. But what I do do is to cook it separately to remove the oil and give it a better taste to the food. Thank you very much for your comment, I'm very happy that you liked the recipe💜

Hello @andreaag21. This is the second chicken dish and recipe I've seen today. They are quick and easy to make, and the ingredients are pretty much basic. What I like is that according to your taste preferences, you can add other ingredients to change the flavor.

I love that you use the term "something to paint the food with." That is awesome, as you can utilize numerous flavorings to turn the dish whatever color you wish. Adding tomatoes turns the color of the dish red.

Thanks for sharing your dish and your recipe. Have a good rest of your week.

Chicken recipes are definitely very versatile, although I didn't have much variety of ingredients at the moment, with what I could I tried to make a tasty dish to share with my mom and grandmother. But indeed I plan to explore more and try to implement more ingredients that give a rich flavor to the recipe. Note that I didn't know about the tomato, I will use it in future recipes with rice, although I am not a big fan of it, but in case I don't have anything to give color to the food I will try it if it deserves it. Thank you so much for reading me and for the tips, I will really take them into account, they will help me to improve in the kitchen. A hug for you💜

You're welcome. There are just so many ways to cook pasta. I love broccoli added for a green color.

Have a good weekend.
