How I prepared my delicacy of bitter leaf with melon soup eaten with semovita.
hello hiveians
Today from my kitchen, I'm preparing a delicacy of bitter leaf mixed with melon soup.
Mostly, I do prepare my soup on Sundays because that is when i always have enough time for preparing soup.
Though sometimes I do prepare soup during the week but that is when I really needed it and also when I have time to do so, if you are interested in my cooking you can follow me and check my blog every sunday for something new from my kitchen.
After an awesome time spent in the church today, as usual of me, I came home hungry and I took a walk to a friends house who has a garden in her compound and I collected some leaves from her garden and its so fresh.
let's get started
ingredients
- washed bitter leaf
- melon
- fresh pepper
- onion
- fish
- seasoning
- salt
- palm oil
Before cooking
wash the bitter leaves thoroughly to remove the bitter taste / you can get the washed one fresh or dried from the market
grind the melon and add water then turn with a spoon to make it a paste but not too watery.
blend the pepper
slice the onion
wash the fish and remove the bone then cut in pieces
After all these has been done, let's start cooking
- pour 2 cups of water in an empty pot.
- Add the blended pepper, palm oil , seasoning, salt, onion and fish(if you are using meat, you can use the stock)
- then place on fire to cook for about 10min.
*add the melon paste with a tablespoon gradually and cover to cook for 10min. for it to create lumps - finally, add the washed bitter leaves and stir, cover to cook for 5 min.
The bitter leaf soup is ready, it can be eaten with your desired food like pounded yam, fufu, eba, amala or semovita as i'm having mine now.
