Hello everyone and all members of the foodies be hive community, how are you today? I hope that you and I are always healthy and happy in carrying out all the routines and activities today. I often say one of the easy ways to be happy is to eat good and delicious food. Like this time, I want to share my dining experience at one of the famous seafood restaurants in my city, namely Mukbang Kerang Restaurant.

The location of this restaurant is on Asrama Street no. 38 (right in front of the North Sumatra provincial tax office and next to Hermina Hospital). This restaurant is on the edge of the highway, and can be easily found, but because it is on a causeway frequented by intercity buses and trucks, some tables are very dusty (especially those close to the roadside).

I came here at three in the afternoon with my wife. Indeed, it sounds strange to eat in the afternoon, at that time we didn't eat lunch because we ate too many snacks and only felt hungry in the afternoon. I've visited this place several times, usually if it comes at night it will be very crowded and it's hard to find an empty seat. The atmosphere of the restaurant at that time was not too crowded, and the design of this restaurant was quite cool, there were several interiors with sea and beach nuances to create a more comfortable dining atmosphere.

Menu and Prices

The main menu of this restaurant is seafood dishes, especially shellfish. Various types of clams are available here such as virgin clams, feather clams, batik clams, green clams, bamboo clams, locan clams, grilled scallops, mussels, and also other types of seafood such as crab, squid, shrimp, lobster etc. In addition, for people who can't eat seafood, there is also a fried chicken menu and some snacks such as dimsum and spring rolls.

To order the seafood menu, we can choose from several available packages. Packages are given a number, such as package 1, or package 2. Giving a number to determine how many types of seafood we will order. I ordered special package 3 for Rp. 110,000 and we chose three types of seafood to be cooked, namely grilled pulut shell, crab and mussels. For the sauce, we chose Padang sauce, and our order included rice, iced tea and vegetables.

No need to wait long, our orders came right away. The way to eat here is quite unique, because it is not served on a plate or bowl. All food will be spilled on a table that has been placed on a pedestal. In my city, we themed this food with “Seafood Spilled”. Tumpah is Indonesian for "spill", this refers to the way food is served that is spilled on the table.

You may wonder why there are three drinks on our table. That's because, we ordered the menu for three people, it was cheaper than we only ordered the menu for two. The ice tea portion is also very large, like the portion for a giant.

I immediately tried this seafood, the first time I ate grilled pulut shell. This scallop has the largest and unique shell, for it tastes very delicious. The combination of mussels with soft and fresh texture mixed with the spicy sauce made me even more hungry to eat.

I'm a little difficult to eat crabs, because to get crab meat I have to need excess energy. I envy my wife, she is very keen to take crab meat and almost all the crabs, eaten by her. I was worried whether we could finish all this food. I was hungry at that time, but I found that eating seafood with rice made it easier for us to be full.

Okay, this is my eating trip this time. Message to all of you who read my posts and watch my videos, don't forget to have lunch.

Hi @isdarmady. How interesting this restaurant and this way of eating. I was struck by the structure, which is very high, the decoration of one of the adjacent walls, which apparently has ivy, and obviously, it is curious the way they serve the food, it is very practical, hahaha, because no dirty dishes. It is interesting to know the customs of other countries, thanks for sharing those of your country with everyone in the community. Greetings.

Thanks for stopping by @sirenahippie
I believe the original idea came from this way of eating because I was lazy to see dirty dishes and wash them. haha
