It's a tough time to be a small business. COVID19 regulations are putting a serious damper on the restaurant industry. I've been trying my best to support the local gems to help keep them afloat. Arethusa a mano is a hidden gem up in the boondocks of Bantam, Connecticut. It's a cafe that was opened by the Arethusa Farm team to compliment their retail store and farm-to-table restaurant. Everything is made from scratch, with high quality ingredients, and you can easily tell after your first bite.
I stopped at Arethusa a Mano last weekend to grab a coffee and a loaf of Irish soda bread to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. When I was there I noticed some delicious looking Chocolate Babka Muffins on display and decided to buy a couple. They were perfectly flaky, soft in the middle with a swirl of chocolate and a nice crispy outside layer. These were some top notch muffins to enjoy with a cup of coffee.
