Can You Re-purpose Food by Enhancing the Taste?

Hi everyone!

It has been a while since my last post about cooking; but this time, instead of doing from scratch I have decided to "re-purpose" the hospital food taken home by spicing up the taste for my mom and myself.

The fish fillet's quality is really good, being from a general hospital; but the taste is one word - salty. Because it is catered for patients to eat so the hospital food is nothing but bland saltiness.

After 12 days in the hospital my dad is getting bored of the food and we ended up cooking extra for him. We thought the overflow food would probably be re-distributed to staffs, but there was a time I heard that it was thrown away. So it is better for me to bring home and "re-purpose" its taste.

I added a tad bit of curry paste, onion and garlic powder, a bit of honey and a splash of fresh milk to make it creamier.

It was really a good piece of fish that shouldn't be thrown away.

So what did I pair it up with?

Curry fish is good for 2 things: rice or roti (flat bread)

Since I had a few pieces extra of frozen flatbread in the freezer, I have decided to try and "re-purpose" its basic flatbread incorporated with egg.

It doesn't look the best since this was the first time I tried it out; but yeah it still kind of works though it becomes a little tougher.

Never the less, it was still perfect pairing with the fish curry!

How about you?

Would you for the sake of saving the earth would you recook hospital food and make it nicer for self consumption / bless someone else (who needs it) along the way?

Have you ever tried using frozen flatbread and add in other ingredients as well?

I look forward for your comments below!

Until then
