(Edited)

Greetings lovely foodies!

Welcome to my blog for another easy to make recipe!

Today for our Iftaar, we wanted something with an Asian/Chinese flavour and I said why not use the black bean paste which was sitting there since couple of weeks now!

I also had different veggies in the fridge and used them all in my dish of the day!

Let me show you how I made this yummy dish, hope you can try it at home someday!

The Chicken!

  1. Cut your chicken breast in small cubes and season with garlic powder, salt and pepper!
  2. Add some soy sauce and mix well together.
  3. Put in a whole egg and little oyster sauce.
  4. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Cook the chicken!

  1. Coat all the marinated chicken pieces in tapioca flour, one by one!!!
  2. This is how the chicken should be coated. Your hands will get dirty for sure...but that's fine!
  3. Deep fry in hot oil, little by little please - Don't just dump all in the fryer!!!
  4. Here is how the fried chicken must look like, well crispy! Reserve for later use!
Btw at this stage, you can even eat them like this...

The Veggies!

As mentioned, I found quite a nice variety of veggies here and there!
Clean, wash and cut them as you can see in the photo below!

The Sauces!

To make my Chicken and Vegetables with Black Bean Sauce, here are the different sauces that went in the dish!

  • Black Bean Paste
  • Sesame Oil
  • Oyster Sauce
  • Soy Sauce

ps. No salt as the sauces are already salty!

Let's rock the wok!!!

Once all the preps work done, cooking is the easiest part actually! We simply have to assemble all and add the sauces...C'est tout!

  1. Heat little oil in your wok! Add the oyster mushrooms first, cook for 1 minute.
  2. Next add in the button mushrooms and carrots!
  3. Once the carrots are little soft, add the zucchini and squash. Stir fry well for 2 minutes.
  4. Next add the onion, baby corn and green pepper.
  5. Toss everything well together, as mentioned; please do not put any salt in here!
  6. Now add in the black bean sauce, oyster sauce , sesame oil and soy sauce.
If you are not used to these sauces, put little by little and taste while adding!
  7. Mix everything well together, then add the fried chicken pieces and lastly the fresh cut spring onion!

Bon Apetit!

The best way to enjoy this dish is with some hot steamed rice!
