Making Spicy Fried Satay

avatar

Hello everyone, I'd like to share how we made fish fried satay. Satay is a kind of a dish or barbecue, but with little pieces of meat grilled on a skewer usually served in peanut sauce. In our place, the satay is not just a piece of meat, but can also a dough that may contain meat, grated coconut, and spices which then attached to the skewers. In this post, we did not use skewers but just make little flat round pieces kind of satay, just like a nugget.

Here is how we prepared it.

We had some fish meat (garfish) that we chopped until it becomes soft. You can use a meat grinder if you have one.

To make the satay dough, we also used grated coconut. Coconuts are easy to find in our place. The coconut will make the taste even better.

For the seasoning ingredients, we got some chilies, shrimp paste, onion, and salt. We ground all these until the mixed together.

Next, we put the fish meat together with the seasoning on the pestle and mortar. Then we stirred until the mixed well.

It's time to mix the meat, seasoning, and grated coconut together. We put the meat into the serving bowl together with the grated coconut.

We made shapes like nuggets from the dough. Please look at the photo.

The last step is to fry those "nuggets" in palm oil.

And finally, the spicy fried sate was ready to serve. Thanks for reading.

No, not yet. It's made by order. They will take around 2 months to build and deliver it.
