Christmas butter cookies
With Christmas just round the corner, we are all working hard to prepare delicacies and presents for our loved ones. Despite this year's restrictions, we are at east allowed to visit our parents and share wishes so I made some cookies to offer them.
Recipe:
- 1 packet of butter (250grams)
- 1,5 cup of sugar
- 3 to 3,5 cups of all purpose flour
- a pinch of salt
- vanilla
- 1 egg and 1 yolk
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
Bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees (I used air) and keep an eye on them, they get burned really quickly if you miss them for a moment.
I had also bought a new dough roller, with Christmas patterns on it and I was anxious to use it!
I can't say I got too excited in the end, as the cookies spread a little in the tray and the patterns almost disappeared. I felt sorry for the time I spent trying to roll the dough evenly and cut my cookies in a way that the shapes would be recognizable on the final cookie. But hey, it was my first try. Next time, I'm using my roller on a dough that "puffs" a little less...
At least they taste really good and they're gonna make a nice present in the new jars I bought and which I'm decorating tomorrow!!

I can already see the pattern a little bit. In any case, they look very tasty 😋 Maybe it works with strong pressure, but I would put a lot of flour on it and under it, so that the dough then does not stick to the table or on the dough roller.
