FoodiesBeeHive #1: My Chicken Adobo(Adobong Manok) With Egg & Pineapple

avatar

Hello FoodieHivers! Today I cooked one of the famous Filipino dishes the Chicken Adobo or Adobong Manok for our lunch. I added some ingredients that do not actually use on a normal Chicken Adobo.

The Ingredients

Before I started to cook I prepared all the ingredients that I needed for my Chicken Adobo. I washed it, cut it, and opened them first to make sure the food are clean. Down below you can see all the ingredients that I used.

List Of Ingredients

  • 1/4 Chicken(Adobo Cut)
  • 4pcs Gloves Of Garlic(Minced Cut)
  • 2 Teaspoons of Soy Sauce
  • 3 Teaspoons of Vinegar
  • 4pc Hard Boiled Eggs
  • 2pc Potato
  • 1 Can of Delmonte Pineapple Slice
  • 2pc of Laurel Leaf
  • 1 Spoon of Sugar
  • Oil

Cooking Preperation

First I marinated the chicken for 30 minutes with 2 Teaspoons of Soy Sauce and 4pcs Gloves Of Garlic(Minced Cut) but this is optional.

After I marinated the chicken I started to put water on the casserole and boil it. After a minute I checked the water if it was hot and then I started to put the 4 Eggs into the boiled water. I boiled the eggs for 12 minutes to make sure all those eggs are cooked as hard-boiled golden eggs.

While waiting to finish boiling those eggs I started to peel and cut the 2 pcs of potatoes into the small cut.

After I peeled and cut those potatoes I opened the can of pineapple slices. I didn't remove the syrup because I use it.

Cooking Procedure

After I prepared all the ingredients that I needed and also the eggs are already cooked I started to put the cooking fry into the fire. When the fry is already hot I added oil and also I add the chickens and I started to saute those chickens until to make look light brown.

When the chickens turned into a color light brown I started to pour the marinated sauce that I used to marinate the chicken. It contains soy sauce and garlic because soy sauce is one of the most important ingredients for adobo. Here in the Philippines every adobe dish we've been used the soy sauce.

After I pour the marinated sauce I added 1 1/2 cups of water and I leave it for a minute until it boils. I added water to make the chicken are cooked.

When the water stars to boiled I added those potatoes to make it soft. One of the techniques that I discovered is to know if the chicken is cooked if the potatoes become soft.

After many times of boiling and the potatoes started to soft I added the can of pineapple slices with the syrup to make the sauce a little bit sweet.

After a couple of boiling and my Chicken Adobo was almost done I added the eggs and I mixed it. You don't need to cook the eggs so much because it's already cooked so I turned off the burner and I pour my adobo into a bowl.

My Chicken Adobo

After 45 minutes of cooking My Chicken Adobo with Eggs and Pineapple is ready to serve. Here is the finished product of my Chicken Adobo. Actually, the original Chicken Adobo of Adobong Manok doesn't have a pineapple or eggs my version of my chicken adobo is a new version of adobo but the taste is almost the same, and delicious.

What do you think about my Chicken Adobo it looks delicious to you? Just leave the comment below.

My family have a similar recipe about using pineapple in a chicken dish, but with coconut milk and more spices :)

A great start in Foodie Community :)
