MY ENTRY TO PHOTOPHILE MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST | CASHEW FRUIT
(Edited)
Good day, Hivers and Photography Lovers! I am sharing with you a macro photo of CASHEW (Scientific name: Anacardium occidentale or Anacardium curatellifolium).
I took this photo when I visited my grandparents' in Kidapawan, North Cotabato, Philippines where they have a small farm.
Cashew nuts are the “true” fruit of the cashew trees. They are located on the bottom of the “false” fruit called the cashew apple. Cashew nuts are protected with a hard shell. Nuts are kidney-shaped and one inch long. Ninety percent of cashew trees can be found in Palawan, Philippines.

Wow, this the first time I've saw a color red/pink cashew for the usual cashew here in my place is yellow.
This is a Brazilian Cashew specie bro. No difference with the taste. Just be careful when you eat cashew as you get burned when your lips touch the kidney-shaped seed.
Parang makopa ang pagkaiba yung kidney shape na buto sa cashew
That's the Brazilian specie sis, but in the Philippines, the usual color is yellow.
First time I see cashew tree and it's fruit. I love eating here and I heard it's expensive in our country.
It is expensive here in Luzon Sis but not in Mindanao.
Wow! Me, too, my first time to see red cashew. There in our 2nd home, Olongapo City our lot is surrounded with Cashew tree the normal cream or yellowish variety.
Wow, I didn't know that cashews grow like this! So it needs one fruit for every nut? Amazing!
