After we started today with a visit to the Hambach Castle and a short shopping trip to France, we will end the day with a 5 course menu.
The wine selection is unfortunately not really matching the menu, but the bottle was added to the arrangement and what would be a dinner without wine 😂

The restaurant is more appropriately furnished for the castle. Heavy carpets, knight's armour in the corner, wall paintings, chandeliers... all in all a very successful ambience, although a little stuffy and slightly warm at 34 degrees outside temperature.

In advance we got a selection of baguette with olive oil, tuna avocado cream and salted butter.

As amuse geul, greetings from the kitchen Sushi with cucumber and salmon tartar balls were served.

As a starter we had a herb salad with wild ham and balsamic vinaigrette, served with a few cherry tomatoes.
The ham was very mild which went well with the herbs.

Afterwards there was a pot au feu of noble fish. Admittedly, one might not have wished for a soup at these temperatures, but that didn't affect the taste.
Shrimp, salmon and pike-perch as an addition to the soup rounded off the taste.

We continued with fish - dorade, fried with an olive focacciai. The focaccia was not baked with olives as expected, but spread with a black olive paste.

The guinea fowl breast for the main course came with sweet potato puree and braised roman salad hearts. The jus supported the course very well with a nice strong taste and made a good counterpart to the sweetness of the potato.

The finish was a wonderful creamy and very aromatic crème bruleé with lemon ice cream on melon salad. For the chocolate tooth there were 3 small pralines which rounded off the meal perfectly.

All in all a good menu, however, a little more regional cuisine would not have hurt
