Bajo La Piel Del Lobo // Sob a pele do lobo (2017) - Samu Fuentes

This is the one of the secret films of this foreign wave that has on Netflix and I decided to watch it because the theme seemed very interesting, in my taste:

Its about a man who lives on top of a mountain, survives on what he produces in his backyard and from the sale of wolf skins. His trips to the city are limited to sales of this material and purchase of necessary supplies.

As the critics said, it is a film with a contemplative intention, without a soundtrack and with very little dialogue. The subtitles are not necessary because you can understand well what each character means without having to understand Spanish practically.

On one of the man's trips to the city, a friend advises him to have a wife, which at first he thinks is a bad idea because life in the mountains is very difficult, but later he becomes convinced.

Two women will be part of this choice. And part of the film focuses on showing what everyday life is like in that place.

It is interesting to observe how the director tried to emphasize the very provincial and almost wild personality of the protagonist, as opposed to meeting a partner.

The plot itself is very good, although if the ending were less tragic and with more joy, the director would not miss a thing and perhaps enchant his viewers more... It is also possible to observe several "errors" in the costumes of the time, since it takes place in the 19th century and even the protagonist's face has the skin of a baby, which is impossible to think in the condition in which he saw it, but these aesthetic details are small compared to the unusual story of the film.

Furthermore, as like other titles more SIDE B from Netflix, I recommend it!

Este é um filme mais secreto dessa leva estrangeira que tem na Netflix e decidi assistir porque o tema parecia muito interessante, pelo menos nos meus gostos:

Sobre um homem que vive no alto de uma montanha, sobrevive do que produz em seu quintal e da venda de peles de lobo. Suas idas à cidade se resumem às vendas desse material e compra de mantimentos necessários.

Como disseram as críticas, é um filme com intuito contemplativo, sem trilha sonora e com pouquíssimos diálogos. Quase nem é necessária a legenda porque dá para compreender bem o que cada personagem quer dizer sem precisar entender o espanhol praticamente.

Numa das viagens do homem para a cidade, um amigo o aconselha a ter uma mulher, o que de início ele pensa ser uma ideia ruim porque a vida nas montanhas é muito difícil, mas depois se convence.

Duas mulheres farão parte dessa escolha. E parte do filme se concentra em mostrar como é o cotidiano naquele lugar.

É interessante observar como o diretor procurou enfatizar a personalidade bem provinciana e quase selvagem do protagonista, em contraponto ao encontro com uma companheira.

A trama em si é muito boa, apesar de que se o final fosse menos trágico e com mais alegria, o diretor não perderia em nada e talvez encantasse mais seus espectadores... Também é possível observar vários “erros” nos trajes da época, já que se passa no século XIX e até o rosto do protagonista tem a pele de um bebê, o que é impossível de se pensar na condição em que ele via, mas estes detalhes estéticos são pequenos perante a história incomum do filme.

No mais, assim como outros títulos mais LADO B da Netflix, recomendo bastante!
