When I was about five years old, they took me to the movies. It was the first time that, sitting in the dark and exciting booth, I had savored the pleasure of cinema.

I don't know if this influenced me, but the truth is that the aura that enveloped me has remained etched in my memory for the rest of my life.

The tadpole who transmuted Elliott into a hero. This child, the second of three siblings, a family without a soul due to the abandonment of a father, in this typical house on the outskirts of Angeles, full of nooks and crannies, flowerpots and enough toys to stop a moving train...

And these scientists and NASA and FBI agents with their devices, listening to people's conversations...

And this spaceship with this family of aliens who, the son of any neighbor, were on a sightseeing trip, left the "child" forgotten...

With these disturbing night images, in what views of the city are seen and the main boys the normal life of any child...

And then Elliott makes the discovery in the shed of him there begins the friendship the deepest and the most that can be established between two beings.

And from there, everything is adventure, magic, discovery, fun, tension and drama...

How the three brothers, but especially Elliott, establish a bond much stronger and more intense than you can imagine, thanks to their special powers, which make boys feel what he feels.

And to witness the evident physical deterioration of the creature, which he is not prepared to live with and that he needs to have close to his relatives.

And, in the end, these spectacular scenes of the entire group of children chased by the entire FBI and ET to fly bicycles, in this mythical scene that makes all the children burst into tears and that is left in history and as a symbol of the Amblin Entertainment company.

See Elliott and ET Flying a bicycle in front of a gigantic moon catapulted childhood dreams.

Oh well sure we all cried in the movie he was mortally ill and the doctors could not do to save him.

Indescribable.

Years later, I specifically listened to the John Williams tape. The well-known song "Adventures on Earth" is in my memory.

In short, a film that marked a whole generation at the time when we were lucky enough to be children.
I could never go back to see a movie about gangs and childhood adventures without evoking that ugly, brown, and terribly smart and cute that our hearts have, or that gang that has flown inward. a sky full of stars.

This sounds like a movie where a child left in some circumstances became a hero surviving in a different planet. I believe the movie inspired you in some ways to have recalled it. Nice post

I remember watching this film when I was a kid but I didn't like ET, he was too ugly and looked like a dying old alien hahaha. I was too young to appreciate this classic film.

That bicycle flying scene is truly special. I saw E.T as an adult and only about a decade ago but the childlike exaltation I felt is important to me.
Thanks for sharing your experience. :)
