Realizando mantenimiento a computadoras antiguas / Performing maintenance on old computers

Greetings cordial friends of "Hive" today I want to share with you what I did in an institution where I am doing my college project.

he project that I am carrying out together with my colleagues in the institution is: The recovery of computer spaces, where it is also added to give workshops and talks to the students of that institute to keep them informed as to the constant updates that have existed and a bit of history, the origin of computers and how they have progressed along with "Learning to recognize the internal parts of a computer" this point has touched me, but, we are done with the students and now we focus on the main objective that we were entrusted from the university.

As we can see in front of me I have a rather old computer together with a monitor that I chose at random to test if it was still operational.

El proyecto que estoy llevando a cabo junto con mis compañeros de la institución es: La recuperación de espacios informáticos, donde también se suma el dar talleres y charlas a los alumnos de dicho instituto para mantenerlos informados en cuanto a las constantes actualizaciones que han existido y un poco de historia, el origen de las computadoras y como han progresado junto con "Aprender a reconocer las partes internas de una computadora" este punto me ha tocado, pero, ya terminamos con los alumnos y ahora nos enfocamos en el objetivo principal que nos encomendaron desde la universidad.

Como podemos observar delante de mí tengo un ordenador bastante antiguo junto con un monitor que elegí al azar para probar si aún estaba operativo.

The monitor is secondary, I will focus on the box that contains all the internal parts, some will call them CPU, that would be the name most people know this box by, because the name "CPU" comes from a part inside the box, where they found it easier to remember it and nicknamed it that.

El monitor es secundario, me centraré en la caja que contiene todas las partes internas, algunos las llamarán CPU, ese sería el nombre por el que la mayoría de la gente conoce esta caja, porque el nombre "CPU" viene de una pieza dentro de la caja, donde encontraron más fácil recordarlo y lo apodaron así.

My priority is to clean the equipment and then turn them on and test why they are failing, the first thing to do before even touching an internal part of the box is: Do not have jewelry of any kind on you.

Do not have wet hands.

Do not have static (Do not rub your hands with your clothes and then touch a box).

That the screwdrivers are not magnetized.

After confirming that you meet all these requirements, then you can start dismantling your box.

Mi prioridad es limpiar los equipos para después encenderlos y probar porque están fallando, lo primero que se debe hacer antes de siquiera tocar una pieza interna del cajetín es:

No tener encima joyería de ninguna clase.

No tener las manos mojadas.

No tener estática (No te frotes las manos con la ropa para después tocar un cajetín).

Que los destornilladores no estén magnetizados.

Luego de rectificar que cumples con todos esos requisitos, entonces si podrás empezar a desmantelar tu cajetín.

The first thing you should do if you don't have a good memory or don't know much about computers and their internal parts, I recommend you take a picture of the case before you start dismantling it, and then proceed to remove piece by piece, carefully not to damage them.

This is what the case would look like without any cables, I also removed the processor along with its heat sinks and the FAN, it was the first time I experienced disassembling such an old computer, it went pretty well despite my lack of experience with that model.

Lo primero que debes hacer si no tienes buena memoria o no conoces demasiado de computadoras y sus partes internas, te recomiendo tomarle una foto al cajetín antes de empezar a desmantelarlo, y después si procederás a quitar pieza por pieza, cuidadosamente de no dañarlas.

Así se vería el cajetín sin ningún cable, también le quite el procesador junto con sus disipadores de calor y el FAN, fue la primera vez que experimentaba desarmar una computadora tan antigua, me fue bastante bien a pesar de mi falta de experiencia con ese modelo.

After finishing with my computer, I was able to put my jewelry back on and went over to the computer my friends were setting up to see how I could help them, their computer was a little more up to date than the one I had, but, I'm not complaining because I was able to gain a new experience.

Después de terminar con mi ordenador, pude volver a ponerme mis joyas y me acerqué al ordenador que estaban montando mis amigos para ver cómo podía ayudarles, su ordenador estaba un poco más actualizado que el que yo tenía, pero, no me quejo porque pude adquirir una nueva experiencia.

Why is it important to clean my computer?

A: To give it a few more days or years of life, and that its performance does not decline because of dirt.

How often should I maintain my computer?

A: Monthly is recommended, by taking a little time each month to clean your computer, in return you will get better performance and check what possible damage your computer may have in the near future.

How to prevent possible permanent or accidental damage to a computer?

A: If you want to prevent physical damage, then I recommend that you clean it once a month and make sure to check all the parts well, if there are any that have signs of bulging, then you can prevent your computer from short-circuiting and not accompanying you anymore, but, if you want to prevent software damage, I recommend this: Update or change your operating system once every 4 or 5 months, if you want more time it can be every half a year, the reason is very simple, everything has an expiration date, the operating time of a system is decaying with the passing of the months to the point that it is completely damaged and your information is unsalvageable.

¿Por qué es importante limpiar mi computadora?

R: Para darle unos días o años mas de vida, y que su rendimiento no decaiga a causa de la suciedad.

¿Cada cuanto debo hacerle mantenimiento a mi computadora?

R: Lo recomendable seria mensualmente, al tomar un poco de tiempo mensualmente para limpiar tu computadora, a cambio conseguirás un rendimiento mejor y revisar que posibles daños podría tener tu computadora en un futuro cercano.

¿Cómo prevenir posibles daños permanentes o casuales en una computadora?

R: Si quieres prevenir daños físicos, entonces te recomiendo que la limpies una vez al mes y te asegures de revisar bien todas las piezas, si hay alguna que tenga signos de abombarse, entonces puedes prevenir que tu computadora haga un corto circuito y no te acompañe más, pero, si quieres evitar daños en el software, te recomiendo esto: Actualiza o cambia tu sistema operativo una vez cada 4 o 5 meses, si quieres mas tiempo puede ser cada medio año, la razón es muy sencilla, todo tiene fecha de caducidad, el tiempo operativo de un sistema va decayendo con el pasar de los meses hasta el punto de que se dañe completamente y tu información quede insalvable.

En esta publicación podemos ver recomendaciones, ayuda a preguntas comunes e información nueva que probablemente no conocías, toda esta información proviene de mis conocimientos básicos en el campo de la informática, tengo algunos conocimientos en lenguajes de programación así como en mantenimiento y limpieza de hardware (ordenador físico).
