Did Corona save Earth and Ozone?!!

The whole world was affected by the emerging coronavirus, but on the other hand, it had a positive impact on the atmosphere, due to the changes that were observed by scientists and specialists during the epidemic and the application of quarantine around the world.

And images monitored by European space agencies and the US space agency "NASA" via satellites showed a 70% lower pollution rate than the previous rate before the outbreak of the epidemic.

And the quarantine came to eliminate the biggest natural problem that was threatening the globe and humanity, which is the ozone hole that has raised the concerns of the world and scientists for years, to be Corona the healer for the hole, which began to recover and contraction from the Arctic side.

Perhaps the catastrophes caused by Corona over the past few months go as far as the Earth's fear of ozone.

Despite the thousands of deaths that the Corona virus records daily on the level of all countries of the world, where the virus has infected 600 thousand people, including 100 thousand cases in one country around the world, to make Corona is the most deadly and fierce virus in the world, the epidemic has contributed in a large percentage to the restoration of youth to a planet Earth.

In Italy and specifically the city of Venice, which is the first city in Europe to apply the quarantine system to the population due to the spread of Corona, it was observed today that the move brought positive results on the environment in the city, where the water of the city's canals became pure and transparent, and even dolphins were seen in the channels. Not seen by Venetians for at least 60 years.

However, users note that such changes in water are more related to less heavy traffic across channels than water purification.

Pollution is Reducing

Satellite images released by NASA and the European Space Agency showed a sharp decrease in nitrogen dioxide emissions and the absence of gas and dust clouds over China, and the decrease in oil and steel production, as well as a 70% decrease in domestic flights, reduced emissions. But the biggest driving force was the sharp decline in coal use in China.

A recent study reported that the ozone layer continues to recover and has the ability to fully recover, and according to a scientific paper, published in the scientific journal Nature, showed a sign of rare success in reversing environmental damage and showed that coordinated global action can make a difference.

"We found signs of climate change in the southern hemisphere, specifically in air circulation patterns," says study author, Antara Banerjee, a visiting fellow of the Cooperative Institute for Environmental Science Research (CIRES) at the University of Colorado Boulder.

"The jet stream in the southern hemisphere is gradually shifting to the South Pole in the last decades of the twentieth century due to ozone depletion," Banerjee said, noting that:

"Our study found that the movement stopped since 2000 and may be reversed, and the movement began to stop at the same time that the ozone hole began to recover."
