The Downside To Being Mentally Proactive

In this video, I talked about being mentally Proactive and how this can be really harmful to "trusting the process" and living by chance. I used my life as a case study in the discussion. I basically talked about how I tend to be calculative, predicting people and trying to control every narrative. I didn't however over emphasise the essense of being proactive, instead I talked about how it could happen in excess and affect how it feels to live a normal hopeful and optimistic life. In this Video, I share a thrilling experience.

I'm also on the proactive side and I think I like that a lot. This doesn't mean that it's the BEST. I've also experienced the downside of it.

I always feel like someone that is starting a new adventure whenever I predict stuff. But then, there are quite alot of other variables that cones into play.

What we need to know is that our prediction is based on our intuition. Some of the intuition is not always right.

In that case, we just need to be sure that we won't allow our proactiveness to affect the process. Afterall, there can be quite alot of variance before getting to the final OUTCOME

Nice one... Very nice video

Lovely comment, truth is, sometimes I feel that there's no process whatsoever, sometimes its just my proactiveness that places ways for things that eventually happens. Well in most cases i am always painstakingly correct and only wrong a few times. Sometimes it scares me when I'm always too correct.

Hahahah... I get that. It can be scary. It's also creepy when you predict an outcome to someone and it comes to pass.

What I've noticed is that being proactive also takes a great deal of intelligence. We've got to pay close attention to every single detail in order to be able to cover a great percentage of the outcome while playing this prediction game of Life.

Well Done

I've predicted the breakups of some of the most beautiful relationships, of mine and others, I take those details and I just put them into variables and a lot of times people say its because i'm negative. It's hurting to actually be right when you want to be wrong, but sincerely, I guess there are levels to being negatively intelligent. I just see the end even before the beginning. It scares me a lot. Even in my quest to find happiness.

No matter how good a plan may be, it can fail actually.

The solution is not necessarily to have a plan B. As plan B too has a tendency to fail.

Where I think it brings more advantage is the experience gathered over many mistakes properly avoided to birth a plan that can withstand imposing failure.

This also goes to say that proper preparation prevent poor performance.
A huge part of that preparation must be the emotional intelligence to handle failure at the first attempt.
And also a consideration that the target might require several other attempts.

So more on the holistic style of thinking, the goal is the goal, the strategies are the strategy and my individuality stays same. Mixing them all up is what births the mental instability often seen in people when the chips are down.

Great post again Sir.

I try to trust the process most times because I realized that when I didn't, I was just overly paranoid.

Trusting to me doesn't mean I wouldn't work hard or chase certain things though but when things don't go my way, I don't go crazy.

This is an interesting topic I won't lie cause I have these conversations with myself daily.

Bring proactive is great but overthinking may not be.
I give people a longer rope, I believe people can change they do not have to follow a predestined pattern.
I'd like to believe there is good in everyone and somehow we trigger certain reactions in people which maybe very different with every person we meet.
Lately I met someone and I've been acting so different, so uncharacteristic of me.
This persons annoys me, more so because I think we met at a difficult time.
That is just an example.
