The environmental policies adopted on climate change have not been at all effective

Greetings friends of @ecoTrain, in the constant search to address current information and ecological interest, and in order to encourage citizens reflective of environmental reality, on this occasion I wanted to share key approaches, related to the most recent statements on climate change, specifically how CO2 in the atmosphere increased in four years what previously took 200 years.

Through the web portal of the Agency Efe, it could be known that "carbon dioxide (CO2), the main gas causing climate change, has increased in the last four years as much as when the Earth passed from the glacial period to the current interglacial, transition that took between 100 and 200 years", according to statements issued by specialists of the WMO (World Meteorological Organization).

According to what is reported in this article, unfortunately the current circumstances are considerably adverse since, "a concentration of CO2 of 410 parts per million has been reached, with respect to the 400 parts per million registered in 2015 and which was already considered an alarming record", which confirms the ineffectiveness of the environmental policies adopted so far.

In the words of Petteri Taalas, current secretary of the World Meteorological Organization, despite the fact that during the months of the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a slowdown in industrial production, the massive quarantine "may have decreased the emission of pollutants and greenhouse gases such as CO2, but has not had any significant impact on their concentration in the atmosphere".

In summary, this alarming situation that the planet is going through, where every year the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increases disproportionately, is a repeated message that our mother nature has been giving us for decades, and at the same time a new opportunity for international institutions in environmental matters to establish urgent agreements.
