My Grandpa had a horrible accident...

It was a Thursday we will never forget...in the early hours of January 9,1969, we heard the news that my grandfather was delivered to the nearest hospital because of an accident. He would normally bike to his workplace leaving home at 5:30 in the morning. Just a couple of kilometers away from home in a curve, he was hit my a military vehicle. I can´t remember who brought him to the hospital, he was seriously injured and the following day Friday, he succumbed to his injuries.

In the Philippines, it is common to have the wake at home so relatives could see the dead. I truly believe that people who departed from this world comes back to tell us that he is still around. On the 3rd day of the wake at around 4:30 there was a loud knocking on the back door, 3 times. I and my cousin who was pumping water from the well, heard the knocking because he was outside standing on a window facing me and saw the door directly from his side ... andhe was 5 meters away from the opened door. I was in the kitchen putting on my socks because my feet felt cold. I heard the knocking too but there was no one before or behind the door.

Only did I remember that my Lolo, as we fondly called him, used to knock at this time of the morning woking-up my aunt to open the door so he could cook his fresh rice to be brought to his workplace. My cousin was scared and stopped the water pumping and went to tell outside the group of relatives about the door knockings. they were astonished of course. I was not scared, I thought of it before to think that really on the 3rd day something would happened.... and something really happened.

My grandpa´s funeral procession after the Holy Mass

I was my Lolo´s fave granddaughter, I´ve had 5 brothers and many girl cousins from Mom´s sister. I was not scared at all and even went to his coffin and talked to him that he should not show any signs to others that he was still around because that would scare the kids. His body was flown from Manila to Cebu City thru a military plane. There were many people who came to his funeral. Until then he didn´t show any signs to anyone that he was still hanging around. But, every year on the eve of his death anniversary, my mom and I always dreamt of him... It went on and on for years until the dreams became seldom. I think he is now resting in peace knowing that he is not forgotten.

The Spirit of the glass...

I had a group of friends working at the companies I audit. And one day we thought of executing the Spirit of the Glass, we planned this to do in the office after work. We all believed in supernatural and superstitious beliefs. The board had been drawn, the candles and the glass prepared before the evening. We were about 6 or 7 and each had the chance to ask the spirit three questions. The board had the alphabet, numbers 1-9 and a Yes and No on both sides and an exit sign as well below the board . Before we began, we lit the candles and we prayed Our Father and Hail Mary and began putting each of our finger on top of the glass. One of my friends (she had done this before) asked whether a spirit is around, and the glass moved to YES!

I was kind of scared, but not sure if one of us is moving the glass towards the YES side. Each of us asked question thru our minds... the glass moved, it really moved!!! When it was my turn, I asked the spirit silently 3 questions. First question had been..whether I will be staying in the country forever, the reply was NO.... then, I asked when would my Dad be back home from Saudi Arabia for good, the reply was 1984. He really came back in October after I left Manila in June in 1984 for Europe. Then I asked my last question which was how old was my mother then...the reply was 54. I couldn´t believe my eyes that the glass found its way to answer all my questions. Nobody knew what my questions were, it was just me who knew them... and a couple of years later it dawned on me that the answers to my question became true!

Lily, our Chihuahua Princess sent some signs that she was going away forever...

Lily´s lifeless body in my arms

I went food shopping the day after my birthday and my newly bought cellphone was in a deep pocket of my jacket, at that moment when I picked-up a fallen item on the shelf, the phone sprung from my pocket and fell off to the ground breaking the glass. I wonder why it broke since the distance from the pocket to the floor is not high just about 15 centimeters and besides the pocket was deep enough and would have held the phone.

Right at that very moment, Lily was already gone! My husband called me a couple of minutes after he went home and said that Lily simply broke down on the ground while he was walking her near our home and was instantly dead. Perhaps had something to do with heart attack. I immediately went home and I was crying cradling and her lifeless body in my arms for a while. We had her cremated and brought her urn with us...At last she was finally home again!

Are you superstitious and do you believe

in the Supernatural...???
