Ecotrain's qotw 9.2 "If there is a God why there is so much suffering in the world?"

Hi everyone
My greetings 😊

So there is another week of ecotrain's questions related to spirituality and God. The question for this week is If there is a God why there is so much suffering in the world? I find this question too interesting to not to respond. So I am going to share my view based upon my understanding.

Yes for me GOD exist, but My God is not like a person sitting on a throne up above in the sky. My God is the form and formless all around. My God is the Divine energy controlling even the smallest events of the world. And yes the world of ours that seems like a choas to most of us is nothing like that, everything here acts in a regulated manner under under some authority. Here they say kisi 'uski marji ke bina patta bhi nhi hilta' (not even a leaf can move without his wish).

Yes my God is the embodiment of love and compassion, but he is not partial at all. For me., it is not the God who gives us happiness or pain, but we ourselves are responsible for the pain and happiness that we receive during this journey of life. Our own actions decide our fate. Whatever we do today is going to make our tomorrow.

I believe there are some laws operating in the universe. And one of them is "Whatever you sow, so shall you reap" so what ever you do either good or bad, sooner or later, you have follow the consequences of it. It depends upon all your actions. For example someone who kills a person mercilessly just to loot his hard earned money and then he says my God is merciful. I will be forgiven. No., sooner or later he have to pay for it.
Even in the modern science, Newton's third law states "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." so same thing applied in our lives too.

Now some people here may say that what about babies who are born suffering. There is the one who is born in the richest family while there is other one who is born in the poorest one. Why there is so much impartiality in the world? When did the newborns do their wrong deeds to get this suffering. So my answer is still the same. The same law., Everyone is paying here whatever they did in the past (in this lifetime or in their previous lifetimes)

I have a firm belief in Reincarnation Yes we all know when we die we shed this body. But there is something that is never dead never born, always the same. That is the soul. Here I want to share a verse from Srimad Bhagwad Geeta regarding the journey of immortal soul.

Vasansi jeernani yatha vihaaya
Navaani grahnati naro paraani
Tathaa shariraani vihaaya jeerna
Nyanyani samyati navani dehi

Translation

As a man casts off worn-out garments and puts on others that are new,
so does the soul cast off its worn-out bodies and enter into others that are new.

Bhagwad Geeta, Chapter 2, Verse 22

Even I have listened to so many real life stories of reincarnation in my local area, where some kids used to remember all the events, their family members, and their residential address of their past birth. They even proved it all true by reaching to their past families meeting them with the help of their present family.

I am also going to mention an American Psychiatrist, Dr Brian Weiss. He was the first one whom I read and I actually started trying to know more about reincarnation. If you search for him you will find he is a psychiatrist, hypnotherapist, who specializes in past life regression. I have read some of his works like Many lives many Masters, Messages from the Masters, Only Love is Real
After reading him I felt like yes whatever he is trying to tell through his work is true. Although it's my view point and anyone else may feel the opposite about it.

So for me I believe, everyone of us is just reaping the fruits of the seeds we have sown in the past. If today we sow a seed of cactus then we can't expect to grow Mangoes on it.
So It's not the God who is responsible for the suffering in the world. There are some laws which regulates everything in this world. But yes certainly there is a Rule of Grace too. Where Divine Grace can help you relieve of your suffering if you are on the right path. Even if you have done something wrong in the past the only way to balance it out is by doing a lot of good things. Obviously if you start doing good to everyone, your heart is full of goodness and truthfulness, it helps you balance out all your past accounts.

So this is my entry for Ecotrain's question of the week session 9.2 you are invited to share your views.

Thank you everyone
Love and peace

Wow! This is very detailed and enlightening! I have never seen you write this much and I could feel your passion in this post.

I quite agree with you that we are the cause of the sufferings in the world and not God. But it's one of our frailties as humans to always look for who to pass the blame on rather than face the issue and look for solutions.

Good write up. I hope you are feeling much better. πŸ€—
