Down with Covid - Day 2

Hello Friends!

While we have been talking about mental health and how important it is to keep a good one, I want to share my experience here.

So I have been observing fever for the last 2 days. Although it is mild (99.x degree F), but still I am catching it off and on. It could be normal viral fever but then given the current situation in India, any kind of fever is doubted to be Corona only. I'm assuming it is Covid and hence I have started my medications and have isolated myself from the rest of the family members.

Although I am physically feeling fine mentally it is very torturous to stay alone in a room, keep aloof from your family, not going in the kitchen (which is apparently my stress buster), not doing any work, and laying on the bed. I am missing my husband a lot, sleeping with him, hugging him. We are talking from a distance keeping our face masks On. It is a very sad feeling but I can't do much about it since I want him to be really safe.

More than that, because I know he is grown up and understands the criticality of the situation, I am more mentally disguised since I have to stay away from my 6-month-old kid. I never knew it would be so difficult. I have cried several times since morning; it is so hard to see him crying and not being able to go and hold him in my arms. I am not talking to him from a 10 feet distance but with a face mask On. I don't even know if he is recognizing me or not. The only thing I am doing is feeding him because that's something inevitable. I am so disheartened, it is an extremely difficult situation.

I have tried to keep myself very safe during this corona period. Even no I'm not sure what exactly is this fever all about. But taking precautions is a must.

Guys, corona might not be impacting physical health that much as mental health. It ruins your mental peace badly. I request you all to be safe; stay at home as much as possible. Order your groceries online; don't step outside unless really required. If you really need to go out, always keep your face masks On and keep a sanitizer in your hand. And in case of any symptom, don't take it lightly and seek medical advice as soon as possible.

Hoping to recover soon and hug my kiddo and husband soon ☹️

really sorry to hear this.. i have friends also diagnosed recently in india.. one friend had one time positive and then one time negative.. its really not very accurate.. and it seems like they test for the flu as well as covid. . what to do.. as you say, the worst part is the mental health from isolating.. not the sickness.. incredible.. sending love

Exactly my concern. These test results are not 100% correct. Even if the test is negetive, we must take all precautions. I'm feeling a little better now, fever is still there. Hoping it is not corona!

I wish you a speedy recovery. I have had it about a month ago, and although I didn't get tested (because it made no sense to go out to get one and risk spreading it) I'm 100% sure I Had it as my smell and taste also left completely after some point. The whole process from feeling a bit off to recovery was very different than other times and I still don't feel 100% like myself honestly.

But you are not alone, and I'd advise you to take a lot of vitamin c and d while you're feeling ill. Every single day I've been ill, I took 2 grams of vitamin c and my body seemed to need every bit of it. I'm pretty sure recovery went quicker while taking the vitamins.

Please take care of yourself and feel better soon <3
