We enjoyed the last breaths of summer last weekend to enjoy the beauty of nature!

Summer is coming to an end

And this year I feel like we've been inside the house too much compared to last summer. Of course, partially this wasn't by choice due to the lockdown rules, but still, I feel we could have freed up some more time to enjoy nature and escape city smells. One of the things I did enjoy during the lockdown months, was the fact that when I went out for groceries in the early morning (often 7 AM), the streets were close to being empty and the sky was clean without any smog to be seen. Just a few people that went out for groceries early mornings, like me, and some that had to go to work while others stayed inside working from home. The quietness on the streets and the lack of diesel from cars and busses made me quite happy. I feel horrible for admitting it, but I did enjoy those shopping moments by myself as currently, it's nothing like that anymore.

The city has been filled with pollution again

While life slowly went back to normal, the air also became more and more polluted and it was noticeable for many people. Slowly people started going back to the busy city life again as offices opened their doors for the employees again. I crave nature smells lately, and while at first we simply were too busy with other things beside work, now that life feels a bit back to "normal" (it's never going to be normal again, but you get what I mean) I want to run and escape the city more than ever. I feel homesick for the moments I've lived outside of the big city and I can almost cry thinking about the fact that we can go back to that, but it will take some time to accomplish it. There are still many ways leading to Rome, and there are currently several options to make it happen, we decided to not pin ourselves to 1 of them, but see how it will unfold instead. Let the universe work her magic..

After two weekends of illness, it was time for a needed break

No holiday this year, which I accepted months ago, but on top of that, we also didn't find much time to go out as a family to enjoy nature smells, while honestly, all three of us feel 100x better when we do. Last Sunday we finally decided we'd go up the hills to walk through the woods and stop at a few playgrounds while walking there plus enjoy a nice lunch somewhere along the way. We should have done this 100x already, but it just didn't happen and now I feel gutted as the area is beautiful and walking there was an absolute pleasure. I tried to take some pictures while walking there, the tree picture above is mine. I had to take it as I was lured to the tree due to the lightfall from above. I love it and this is how the day felt, light and fun.

Nature worked magic on my mind

As I wrote yesterday, I was quite stressed (understatement of the year haha), and it was really needed to have a break, no laptop and noise of possible irritations about things not going smooth, just enjoy and not look at the phone constantly either. I only took it out to take pictures, and I should do so more often. Just go out there and enjoy the surroundings. I'm so glad we went as yesterday was my most productive day in months plus I noticed that rain and low temperatures are arriving later this week, hello fall! While fall also has its charms, I prefer the non-rainy days. I made a promise to myself, that as long as we're allowed to do so, we will also take more time off to enjoy nature during the fall. Every season has its charms, I want to make the most out of it.

Have a lovely day this #treetuesday :)
