Encounter With a Ghost ... LOH CONTEST#66

I used to think that the belief on ghosts and their prevalence to this much extent was only present in my culture, but recently when I went through various entries for the 66th edition of Ladies of Hive Contest, I realized that the experiences and beliefs are spread across the globe.

I have heard and read several stories of paranormal activities. I don't know how much reality exist in these stories but some sound real while others appear like illusion, and even there are some others that sound fabricated (I feel there are those people who exaggerate a simple incidence of hearing some voice or seeing a shade or merely a dream or sleep paralysis). God knows better. Well, I haven't encountered a any ghost and would never like to go through any such experience. However, lately, there happened something strange at our home with my sister-in-law (Sam) and I witnessed her horror. She was appearing like the blood had been squeezed out of her body. Literally, it was the first time when I understood the meaning of eyes wide opened (before that I had already read the term in literature). Out of terror, her eyes were so wide opened as if they would jump out of her eye sockets. Let me tell you the incidence.

It was a normal morning, I and my sister-in-law (another one) were sitting in the T.V lounge when Sam opened the door of her room and asked in a strange voice if anybody had come to her room. We replied in negative. She quickly came out of her room and sat with us. She was shivering. We asked her what had happened to her. She replied, “I was lying on my bed. I felt my bed had lifted up from my feet side. The first time I thought it was an illusion. The bed lifted up higher the second time. I became motionless for a while. Meanwhile, the bed was lifted up again and it was much higher than the last two times. It was like someone wanted me to leave the very place I was lying at. I just came out. My mind isn't working.”

I tried to relax her and said she might be sleeping and whatever she experienced was a dream. She shook her head and replied she remember that she was awake. She was seeing the surroundings and she was hearing our voices too. She had heard our brother-in-law laughing a few minutes ago (She was right. He had laughed over something a few minutes before she had come out of her room).

After this incidence, she remained sluggish and horrified for many hours. She was so afraid of going to her room for a couple of days. She also got the fever and her face remained pale for the whole week.

We don't really know what that happening actually was. We have been living in this house for many years, but nobody encountered any such event before. As @kaerpediem ma'am said in her comment

when nothing else makes sense - it's all in your head

But, there is something worthy of mention. Sam is someone who didn't believe on such things. For a couple of months before the incident, she had been explicitly talking about her disbelief on the spirits.
