It's the little things that matter.

Let me tell you how God works, this is why we say that His ways are not the ways of man.

Recently I've had this quote which I have termed my favorite quote until further notice.

The quote says

"It's not the big things but the little things that matter".

Due to the plans I have to meet up with financially, I've had to save more so that I would be able to meet up with the plan. This equally means that I've not been able to have enough of what we call emergency money but I still try to manage myself well and make sure that I am not stranded.

I started this week with only N1000 which should be around USD 2.4. To be honest, it was the only cash I had on me, my account was 0. I had decided to keep my earnings in hbd savings till I'm ready to use them, leaving them In my bank account would only end in tears, this I know.

Due to the fuel scarcity and increase in the price of fuel, the transportation price was also inflated.

I went to work on Monday and spent the normal price for my transportation fare, however, Tuesday was different. I had to spend more because of the fuel issue. What I had left on me was N500 and I had planned to spend N400 to and fro for fare and then use the N100 that would be left to buy beans porridge.

Ever since I found this restaurant owned by this man that sells only beans, yam, bread, and noodles, I've never stopped going because the man sells the food so well. N100 beans have always been enough to sustain me at work until I get home. I had my day planned but it was thwarted. Usually, I spend N200 coming to work and N200 going home but on this day, I spend N250 coming.

The worst part was that I was very hungry that morning and to show how prepared I was, I had prepared eba(swallow food) and brought extra garri (cassava flour) from my house to work. LIFE OF A LAGOSIAN. Where will the energy come from if one is starved of food?

I wasn't so happy and had already accepted my faith that I would stay hungry at work till I get home that day, and I was going to get home by 9 pm

There was nothing I could do, I couldn't have gone to spend the transportation fare that was going to take me home, and I'm not the type that feels so good borrowing money from someone. I just had to accept my faith.

When I got to the office, I settled in and took my bag from where I k could bring out my pen to record details that needed to be recorded for that day. As I was looking through the bag,, I saw something that looked like money, so I brought out the book to check it.

Lo and behold, I saw an N50 note in it. I suddenly remembered that I had left the money there last week. The reason why I had kept it was because I felt that I may need a 50 naira note in the future, so it was better to leave it there but I had completely forgotten about it.

This is when I say

"The future isn't necessarily so many years to come, it could the next minute or hour".

That was how I was able to add both 50 naira notes, making it N100 naira to get the beans I had in mind. This was why I said that it isn't the big things but the Little things that matter. I was able to get the beans porridge as my lunch to sustain myself for that day.
