Finding More Gems In The Garden - Unbeliveable!

Hi Everyone,

It's been a stressful week at work in particular things are going in the wrong direction and out of my control, I tend to get worked up even though I don't need to be. Maybe it's my personality according my hubby I'm a "perfectionist" (only at work!) so I can be pretty hard on myself. While all things are going out of wack, a picture came up on my phone telling me to recap what has happened a week ago with some pictures (gosh I love IOS) so I thought I'll share here so you can all see the 'gems' we found in the garden.

Around a fortnight ago, we found some mysterious sweet potatos but we don't have the tools to keep digger so I went to the hardware store and got a metal rack and told hubby to dig to see if he could find some more. Well as I was having a meeting, he sent me a picture on my sweet potatoes. It feels like he was screaming Eureka! Then he kept digging for me and found 3 good size sweet potatoes and gave up. Apparently the rack I got was too short so maybe have to borrow something from the neighbour or buy another one.

I decided to cut the ends of the large one and bury them back the soil as it started grow sprouts already. Oh gosh look at the colour of that plant. Unbelievable. I am not great with growing things but surely this is a great find in the garden and we can't wait to dig more out in the next few days once I get a new rack. We suspect there are more as we can see leaves all down the fence so it will be a huge task for hubby!

We've also planted a sweet potato and its growing heaps. Apparently you need to cut off the runners that grow out of the tuber itself and put in water to get roots than plant it.

I grow them all over my house and only eat the leaves.
