Between Pipes, Farms & Pressure: I Keep Moving 🇳🇬
Hello Hives,
Sometimes, life has a way of making you feel small.
Especially here in Nigeria, where you can wake up with a plan, only for unexpected bills, rising prices, lack of opportunities, or one problem after another to remind you that life does not always go according to plan.
But one thing I have learned is this: you cannot afford to stop moving.
My own journey has been a combination of different hustles, hard work, and trying to create something better for my family.
I do plumbing.
It may not always be glamorous, but I have learned to take pride in honest work. There are days when I am dealing with leaking pipes, installations, repairs, dirty hands, and tired muscles. But at the end of the day, I know I am doing something meaningful. I am using my skills to solve problems and put food on the table.
Then there is farming.
Farming has taught me patience in a completely different way. You plant today and wait. You put in the work without knowing exactly what the harvest will bring. You deal with weather, expenses, uncertainty, and all the challenges that come with agriculture.
But you keep planting.
You keep watering.
You keep believing that eventually, something will grow.
Sometimes, I feel like my life is exactly like farming. I am planting seeds today that I may not see the results of tomorrow.
And honestly, there are moments when the pressure gets heavy.
And as a husband and a father, I constantly think about my family. I think about providing for them, giving my children a better future, and creating a home where they can have opportunities to become whatever they dream of becoming.
My family is the reason I keep going.
When I am tired from plumbing, I remember them.
When farming becomes difficult, I remember them.
When an opportunity doesn't work out, I look for another one.
When things don't make sense, I pray and keep moving.
I may not have everything figured out yet. I may not be where I want to be yet. But I refuse to let my current circumstances convince me that this is where my story ends.
I am a Nigerian man hustling, learning, working, failing sometimes, starting again, and trusting God for better days.
My hands may carry the marks of plumbing and farming, but they also carry something else and which is hope.
Hope that the seeds I am planting today will become tomorrow's harvest.
Hope that all these sacrifices will mean something.
Hope that one day, my children will look back and say, "Dad never gave up."
So, when the world tries to make me feel small, I remember who I am doing all of this for.
My family.
That is my motivation.
That is my strength.
And no matter how hard the road becomes, we move. 🇳🇬❤️

You are hardworking....these days with the present situation in nija sometimes our efforts makes us feel like we are not trying our best.
Seriously that's the current situation we found ourselves in Naija, but we can't just give up because of that.
I've also found patience in gardening; it can teach you a lot. It's wonderful how you work for your family.

What you say about the enormous pressure of trying to provide for your family and the frustration when things don’t go as planned is so true. You have no idea how much I understand where you’re coming from. We often carry the weight of physical and mental exhaustion, wondering if the seeds we plant today will ever bear fruit. But, as you said, feeling discouraged or giving up simply isn’t an option when you look into your children’s eyes and know who you’re doing it all for. I think you’re a great man.
