Every day, many people are becoming more and more obsessed with money and fame. There is a question many have thought about —

This is to specially wish all the wonderful ladies in this community a Merry Christmas and Happy New in advance. It is being a great year so far and I hope we continue to grow stronger in 2022.

I'd like to rephrase this question in my own words and it will help me to understand it more.

Would you trade 10 years of life for wealth and fame?

Would you like to substitute, that is, exchange 10 years out of the life someone is expected to live for wealth and fame. In other words, if someone is expected to live a 100 years, 10 years will be replaced with wealth and fame.

If I was asked this question about 15 years ago, I'd gladly say YES without even thinking about it twice. As a child, all we dreamt of about life is wealth and fame. We see the luxury lifestyle that celebrities, politicians and successful business moguls live and we want to be like them. But today, having seen that this life is not all about wealth and fame, I'd say NO. There's no doubt about the fact that wealth and fame are not good but trading with my life (time), it's a big NO.

Have you ever been told what the greatest and most valuable asset in life is?

THE GREATEST AND MOST VALUABLE ASSET IN LIFE IS TIME!

I will not totally agree with businessmen and businesswomen that says that "time is money", time is way more than that. It is the most valuable asset that anyone can have in their possession and guess what? It is free. In the space of less than 10 years, it is possible to achieve a whole lot when you use your time and life wisely. It is what we decide to use our time to do that will determine what we achieve in life. When you spend your time wisely you'd not be interested in the fame and wealth that comes with trading your life with it.

A person that has no life has lost everything. When there is still life you can do the unimaginable and unthinkable things in the world. Looking at the Terms and Conditions that may apply to the question above, it is very certain that the fame and wealth will be short term and not long term. So, what is the essence of spending 10 years of your life rich and famous, then returning to square one after some years. The wealth and fame that comes on a platter of gold, so to speak, will not be utilized to the fullest, in other words, since you didn't work for it, you may spend recklessly rather than thinking of investing, you will speak to people rudely and with pride, instead of being calm and responsible, and so on.

I have been using life and time interchangeably because the time we spend is what makes up our life. It is important that you don't let time slip through your fingers in exchange of anything that does not worth it.

Ask yourself these questions...

  • What are you exchanging your time/life for?
  • Are you exchanging your time/life for unproductive activities?
  • Do you gossip and talk bad about people at their back?
  • Do you trade your parental responsibilities for work, parties and traveling?
  • Are you exchanging your time/life for wealth and fame? Perhaps, you are saying NO because the question says 10 years. You may have been trading 1 minute, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 weeks, 5 months, one year and so on of your life for these things that are ephemeral.

So, think about it!

THE GREATEST AND MOST VALUABLE ASSET IN LIFE IS TIME

Oh dear! You nailed it. This got me thinking about many things that had been happening in my life for few months now, things are really not going the way they're supposed to and I tell you that at this point of my life even though I am asked she same question and asked to choose which I want, I still wouldn't want to loose any of my life span just for wealth and fame because with wealth also does a lot of risk come in. With too much wealth, one can't move freely around due to fear of being kidnapped, killed and more. No matter what I'm facing right now I'd rather stick to time and wait for the day that things get better. Lovely post here. I enjoyed reading!PIZZA
