"Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus" (Luke 1:31).

Jesus is Lord, praise him now and forever. Friends God has a plan for each and everyone, but it depends on the choices of the individual. From the first reading God had a plan for king David, but he made the wrong choice. God's plan for him was not for him to build him a house where he will dwell. His plan was that through his wisdom and leadership many people may come to know God. But he failed God by his choice. As a result God was not happy with him. Have you ask you why God is not happy with you?

From the gospel God sent his Angel Gabriel to a small village called Nazareth to a virgin betrothed to a man. Her name was Mary. His message or say his plan for her is that she has been chosen by Him to bear Saviour. She came disturbed and perplexed, but the Angel told her not to be afraid. Her dream one day was to be married to a just man in the eyes of the people and God. I believe no lady will push way this? Or what would you have done in her shoes?

Very surprisingly she replied "Behold I am the handmaid of the Lord, be it done to me according to thy word". She made the right choice with the help of the Angel while David made the wrong choice with the help of the prophet Nathan.

Friends God has a plan for us, but our choices in life can make or unmake us. It can make life meaningless and unpleasant to us. Friends Mary is who she is today in the salvation history because of the choice she made and no one can take this from her.

Friends as we prepare to celebrate Christmas we are call upon to today to reflect on God's plan for us and our choices in life. Which of these two characters can your life be likened to, David or Nathan? To make the right choice also depends on certain things (Nathan in the situation of David, the Angel in that of Mary, and others). Be careful of them and will make the right choice in life.

You might have made a choice in the past which have made you neglected living or making that choice. It is not very late. Ask why you are living today. God has given you today so that you can make good your defects. We pray that Mary may intercede with his Son to help us know his plan for us, so that we may make the right choice and be found worthy of that great crown. May the Lord Jesus Christ, help us. Peace and joy, Amen.
