Key-Defender Is Magical

Lately my head has not been thinking straight as there is turmoil everywhere around me. I think the problem is I am juggling too many things currently and something has to give somewhere. Between having Corona in the house,no reliable income as the business is just meandering these days and a build up of feeling a little helpless.

Yesterday I repeated a dumb mistake I made a few months ago and whilst adding a photo onto a post I used one of my keys in error as the source. Easy to do and just plain stupid which should never ever happen. I was in a rush to get my draft posted as I was the taxi taking my corona family members to the doctors rooms for a check up.

Bang as soon as it posted a super hero app called @key-defender popped up saying I had compromised my keys. I know it was a dumb thing to do, but how cool is that having a back up system that looks after other dumb wits like me. I hate to admit this, but this is the second time it has happened to me with the last time costing me 940 Steem as the liquid stake was removed immediately.

Not only did it freeze the account by moving anything liquid into savings, but alerted you immediately. I think this is exactly what Hive needed as it is an added security measure. Mistakes are made and knowing something is looking out for you is incredible. I hope most of you don't ever see it as it means something has gone wrong somewhere yet at least you can rest assured it is there. Hive is blessed having so many smart people in one place and this is just another example of just that. Thank you @@@gaottantacinque for developing this for the Hive community.

I am no genius when it comes to block chain technology and have been learning slowly. To others not on here yet I may look like a genius (debatable),but you understand where I am coming from. This place is not that easy to understand and many things we do have consequences. Keys are the most important thing as without them the account isn't yours. Proof of ownership by holding your keys is what gives you the power. They scare the bejeezers out of me sometimes as they need to be kept safe.

All is well that ends well and a wise head on here (Taraz) recommended the app last pass to store my passwords and keys in. I have already read up about it and will do it after I have more time set aside tomorrow. As a thank you to last pass I delegated some HP and will add more weekly as I think it needs to be supported.These are the small things that change Hive into being a friendly community where everyone has your back.
