Stone from Gazprom

Not far from my new job is the regional office of Gazprom.
Today, after lunch, I decided to take a little walk, since the day was sunny, the snow had already melted well from the pedestrian paths.
It turned out that Gazprom made a small square in front of its office and installed a stone with a sign in honor of this.
For some reason, this place was called the alley. And there are alleys in the form of a circle?
I always thought that the alley is a kind of straight path with plantings on the sides.

I'll see what it looks like in a couple of weeks, when the snow disappears completely.
