In Bolivia, the Tiwanaku civilization, is a pre-Inca civilization that dominated the southern half of the central Andes between the fifth century and the eleventh century.

Here are some of the statues encrusted on one of the walls of the semi-underground temple in front of the ceremonial temple of Kalasasaya.

Kalasasaya is derived from the aymara Kala voice (Stone) and Saya (stopped), It would mean "standing stones".

The temple was built in the early twentieth century and possibly contemporary Templete Semisubterráneo.
