Amazing Nature: Yellow Garden Spider With Its Prey
Yellow garden spiders commonly build web close to open sunny place in which they can conceal and protect from the wind. It was sunny when I came to notice this spider near the swamp was fighting with grasshopper in the web. I used its busy time to take some photos from various angles and fancy seeing this spider did not move quite a lot. The yellow garden spider belong to Araneidae family that often staying in one place throughout much of their lifetime. Most spiders have two claws on each foot but yellow garden spiders have an additional claws help them spin their complex webs. Having long legs can also help them catch prey and place it under their legs and with venom that they produce can immobilize prey such as bees, flies and other insects that accidentally caught in the web. Perhaps, it was happy for having a big prey and can save the day. So here are some pictures of yellow garden spider that I captured a while ago near the swamp which somehow amazed me with its strength and the skill that they use to build a complex web. Nature never stop to amaze us with living incredible creatures. Amazing life, amazing nature!
