A WORLD WITHOUT A TREE, THINK OF IT!!
Tree is a tall plant with a wooden trunk and branches that grows from its upper parts. Naturally trees beautify environments, artificially, trees used for constructions. Mythly, trees chases demons and evil spirits from where they are grown and generally, trees of different kinds are meant for different purposes though some performs multi-functions.
A tree performs many functions such as beautifying environment, medication, construction and games reserve and depending on its location and type of its tourist attraction.
Trees like Queen of the night beautify environments and scent in middle of the night. Some trees like the Iroko, Gmalina, Mahogany and others are of great economic importance as they provide employment in disverse ways for people. It generates revenue in terms of foreign exchange earnings.
However, some places like the Obudu cattle range in Calabar, Cross River, etc. where trees are mostly found serves as tourism and site of attraction as people from far and near visits for relaxation and fun.
Moreover, trees bearing fruits and seeds like the palm fronds from palm trees are processed into oil, fat and kernel is obtained as well as cocoa seeds are processed into tea. The mango, orange, apple and pawpaw trees produce good fruits, which can either be eaten raw or processed to obtain juices. Nevertheless, the bark, leaves and roots of same tree, Sapele and Cida trees are used for medicinal purposes.
Like I’ve said, that trees beautifies environment and there’s something that makes it so, these things are its flowers and shapes. Hibiscus, Queen of the night, pride of Barbados, and Sunflower trees, etc. bears flowers of colourful petals which some are scented and whenever one walks around them it makes you feel happy and thus admiring the prettiness of nature.
Some soft and hard wood trees are used for construction and buildings. Most of the furniture in our different homes are products from these woody trees. Certainly products like plastics and car tyres are gotten from rubber trees, of the truth God did not make a mistake to creates trees that’s why God said after all creations…that it was good.
