~Eastern Chipmunk~

Early this morning I went outside to feed the birds.
My cell phone starting ringing. I put the scoop of birdfood on the ground and left to go answer it.

When I got back to finish what I started this was what was going on in absence..

I asked the Chippy to get out of the scoop!!!!.
It did.
Technically I guess this pose could be considered out.
🤔😅

In complete defiance it went back down and starting eating again. Another chipmunk quickly approached. I sure am glad I wasn't on the phone too much longer.

Cute they definitely are.
They continually eat and hoard food all Spring, Summer and Fall. They just don't stop. Busy .. busy they are.
They truly do amaze and entertain me with constant busy energy.

The above photo I took back in April. This Chipmunk cheeks( pouches) are chubby full with seeds and nuts. They are indeed professional hoarders of food.
Chipmunks are ground dwellers unlike squirrels that nest up high up in the trees.
Chipmunks stash food in their underground burrows(tunnels)

I finally accomplished my mission.
A different chipmunk came along and volunteered help.

I finally got birdfeeder hung back up for the birds.
The black metal baffle works great in keeping the chipmunks and squirrels off the feeder. They hang out beneath it and collect what falls to the ground.
