The lost island turned into a port

The image you see here at first is one of a beautiful location, what you see here is not like that at first, nature has changed its environment into slum and irregular environment, at first glance it looks like it has just been hit by a disaster, but in reality it is not, this condition it was originally one of the islands called Dareut Island, the location where every species of coastal animal is and has now turned into a river channel for traditional wooden fishing boats to anchor.

Why did it happen?

In general, this is influenced by the natural atmosphere itself, because the location is very close to the coast bordering the Makala Strait, it is very vulnerable to erosion or dredging by the tide itself. Gradually the land in the shape of an island is eroded and depleted so that it becomes new land changing into a river channel.

If you look in the picture, you can see a pile of land from the rest of the island that has not been completely eroded by the fierce tide.
So the question is what is the cause? Can nature change itself?

So in this case, it can be answered that it might happen for several reasons, such as:

The wind was so strong that there was a violent tide

As we all know that land winds and sea breezes are winds that move in land and sea areas, when they blow they will impact the land, sometimes causing soil erosion around the edges. While the nature of the sea breeze itself is a type of wind that moves from the ocean to the land, in general its impact will be felt by people who occupy positions around the coast. Likewise, at night the land is colder than the ocean. Why? Because, when the air moves from land to sea, this event is called the land wind, and during the day the wind from the ocean to the land is called the sea breeze.

Nah! When this process occurs, generally at night the wind moves fast and blows by itself, it will automatically hit the coast, gradually because Dareut Island does not have a fortress from the ocean, automatically disappears a little every day.

As a result of the occurrence of natural changes that impact on every large pile of land into a streamed river, the function of the location changes from the location of the host for coastal animals to the berth location for traditional Aceh fishing boats.

Due to the excessive pile of garbage

Hearing the words of a pile of garbage, as if it is impossible, and exaggerating the problem is trivial because there is no way a pile of garbage can eliminate this magnificent island, but it happens in our territory.

The story is this!

In 1999 the location you see is one of the vast piles of land, the local people named the island of Dareut, the name was given based on the number of grasshoppers that inhabit the location, the phrase Dareut itself was adopted in Acehnese, which means grasshopper.

From 1999 to 2016, the piles of garbage disposed of by the surrounding community automatically covered the water that came out of the fishing community so that the water flowed in another direction to the edge of the island, day after day the water continued to flow, so that what kept flowing, eroding the land on the island from the direction of the back of the island to the east. While the island is eroded from the front of the island due to the application of sea breezes, so that in a few years the island has been completely eroded by water sourced from community disposal.

The water flowing out and out looking for another way causes the landfill to be eroded as you can see in the photo which is a former large mound and eventually becomes a tributary making it useful as a dock for traditional fishing boats.

Water is very strong when it flows, it is able to destroy and is also able to carry anything that gets in its way when it encounters it.
Not with the exception of anything that stands in the way of course will be carried by him, so that it looks like a natural miracle, if we want to remove an island-shaped mound of earth, of course it will take a long time, and have to use adequate tools and even that is not necessarily as perfect as our goal, but when nature wants something then in a short time it will happen.

In general, nature will update itself in this life, sometimes the change occurs due to the influence of nature or by the work of the human hand itself.

Now Dareut Island is no longer visible and disappears instantly due to the influence of nature itself, which is caused by the influence of the wind which becomes big waves and is able to hit any mound even though it is as large as Dareut Island itself. Dareut Island, which is located in the Pusong Lhokseumawe Aceh Fisherman Village area, is only a little or half of its base, and is separated from the mainland connected to the local village.

The loss of the half-sized Dareut Pusong island is a natural wonder in our region. The island, which was once one of the unique riches of the region, is now a memory for the people, God is able to make anything about this nature.
