At the beginning of January, Winter seemed to be firmly established in Central Europe. As an avid nature observer, I enjoyed every moment while walking in the woods and in the fields. I admired the structure of snow at different temperatures, snow drifts in the sun and wind.

Greetings to Amazing Nature Community fans

At the end of January, however, the outside temperature exceeded 0 ° C towards the plus and the snow began to melt. What was not known in the forest was found on the neighboring pond, which I have been observing for you since December 30, 2020, when I announced a special Thematic Challenge OVER TIME within the ANC.

A week ago, you and I were able to watch the stream that feeds the pond. Today we look at the pond again.

Photos from 25.1. to 3.2. they capture the change in snow cover and the condition of the pond level. The last images show how high daily temperatures (0 to + 6 ° C) and light rain affected the snow.

I'll see what the next days bring. Maybe instead of the pond I will start to observe the place where bear garlic (Allium ursinum) grows and maybe I will be able to record its growth :-)

Neat captures @bucipuci. Lovely changing views of the pond.

Is this to get us motivated for the Over Time Challenge? :-) If so, it’s a great incentive.😀

Love the way change on the pond is captured to reference back to water flow during your cold season.

Captures the feeling of how cold you get up there @bucipuci adding a shroud of mystery with low hanging mist in first photo.

When the snow starts to melt, the levels rise :-)
Hanging fog is caused by higher air temperature and evaporation of ice.
Thanks for the kind comment @joanstewart!

Living in hot climate we get the heat shimmering off the ground giving a mirage effect, not often that we get fog more of a heavy mist.

Every kind of climate has its beauties. Let's appreciate what we have :-)
