Outside/Inside/Outside - changes and photos

February 29 of 2020 I finished some schooling that took far, far too long. I only recall the date because it was leap day. For a week, I didn't know what to do. I was so used to coming home from work and then working a few more hours on the school stuff. Then, when done, what do I do now?

A week of giddiness was enjoyed. Then covid hit the next week and we all know about lockdowns and such.

Bad news
The change now was being at home, staying at home, working from home. The other change was with my activity level. Whereas I was used to bicycling to and from work each day (7,000 "steps" on @Actifit just in commuting), my activity level went way down.

Good news
I wrote yesterday about trade-offs as below:

Lesson one in economics is this: everything is a trade-off. When you get one thing, you give up another. Or, when you give up one thing, you gain another. There are no wins and losses, only trade-offs.

Being at home meant I lost physical activity to a degree. But, it meant other doors opened. A trade-off occurred.

Like many folks, I think, I've spent more time on the computer. Some good news about all of this that I've been able to enjoy something of a creative boom. I've made stuff, which I enjoy doing (see https:nefties.com/stuff). Silly, but all original.

I really like to be physically active and miss it when I'm not. So, whenever the weather breaks and I'm able it's time to get outside. That's what I did yesterday. I headed out on a rails-to-trails path.

They must move railroad tracks a lot. Above is the old tracks path made into a multi-use path.

The old-old tracks roadbed.

The current tracks.

A plant of some sort was unfurling in the warmth.

Around these parts, paper mills rule. Or, at least they used to. With times changing, paper mills are shutting down. This one is still producing that clean, white, paper stock.

You've got to love a local festival. And a fish-based one is great.

I took a pause-shadow-selfie to bark out this https://d.buzz buzz: https://d.buzz/#/@crrdlx/c/zv86mgz9de267fncwa7hhk Million dollar bitcoin? Yep. I'm sticking to it. It'll happen.

Cranberry fields. Fun fact: in Massachusetts they're called bogs. In Wisconsin they're called marshes. Out west they're called farms. (Not sure of names elsewhere.) I love the colorful stripes the fields make.

Said "Hello" to a Canada Geese pair. Fun fact: they're Canada Geese, not "Canadian Geese" like lots of folks say. Rookies.

Good to be outside again.
