Moss season is on!

Winter (and spring) the the best time to shoot moss. At least in this part of Europe. This time of the year is usually very rainy around here with more regular fog and morning mists. And since we don't get any frosts, or they are super rare, the mosses stay green and look their absolutely best!

It is not hard to find it of course. It will grow almost everywhere. But the best time is when the sporophyte appears like a little forest. The tiny little capsules on top hold spores (like moss seeds). When the right time comes, the capsule will open and the spores will fly away hopefully starting a new moss colony.

The natualr mist (no spray bottle here!) created all those lovelt, tiny drops sparkling in the sun. Perfect to catch some nice bokeh too.
Just in few hours they will be all gone. Best time to go and catch some of those is morning (which can be a bit of a challenge for someone who prefers to stay up late.. ekhemm).

The shots above were taken in Portugal.
The ones below were shot in a much colder climate in Poland. Still looking great under all that snow.
