Cherry blossom tree
We have this amazing tree in our backyard. I think it's a type of cherry blossom tree. During autumn there are small cherry-like fruits on the tree. Not as big and bright as 'normal' cherries and I don't know if they are edible. I never tried and also don't know if it's a good idea
Every year in May the tree starts growing dark pink flower buds that give the tree a nice dark pink colour.
Then after a couple of days the flowers slowly open up and and show their petals. In a few dats the tree turns from dark into light pink.
It's a beautiful sight, especially against a clear blue sky.
At this moment the tree attracts hundreds of insects. It's pretty hard to get them sharp on a photograph, but I managed to capture one.
Unfortunately I couldn't get the complete tree on the photo because of the backlight of the bright sun.
