Grass-green russula (Russula aeruginea) - an edible mushroom with which you can confuse the most poisonous mushroom in my country - the death cap (Amanita phalloides) / Gołąbek bladozielonawy

I rarely pick wild mushrooms myself and eat them later. But I like to photograph and recognize them. This time, when I was walking in the forest, I saw beautiful mushrooms with a green or maybe aquamarine color. They had white stipes. I immediately thought that they reminded me very much of the terror of mushroom pickers, the deadly death cap (Amanita phalloides). One fruiting body of this mushroom can poison an entire family! 😱 However, a few characteristic details were missing in the construction of the death cap - incl. a white ring on the stipe or a cup-like structure around the base of the stem.

Rzadko sama zbieram grzyby leśne, żeby je później zjeść. Za to lubię je fotografować i rozpoznawać. Tym razem, gdy spacerowałam po lesie zobaczyłam piękne grzyby o zielonej, a może seledynowej barwie. Miały białe trzonki. Od razu pomyślałam, że bardzo mi przypominają postrach grzybiarzy, śmiertelnie trująceg muchomora sromotnikowego. Jeden owocnik tego grzyba może wytruć całą rodzinę! 😱 Brakowało jednak kilku charakterystycznych szczegółów w budowie sromotnika - m.in. białego pierścienia na trzonku, czy białej okrągłej otoczki u podstawy trzonu.

I certainly would never risk picking a mushroom I don't know. Especially like this one. Recently, there was a tragedy in my country. An Afghan family who lived in the refugee center picked mushrooms in the vicinity of the center and cooked them a soup. Unfortunately, it turned out that they were the death caps. Three children were hospitalized with symptoms of severe poisoning. Unfortunately, two little boys died. One even had a liver transplant, but it was impossible to save him. A terrible tragedy.

Na pewno nigdy nie ryzykowałabym zebrania grzyba, którego nie znam. Szczególnie takiego jak ten. Niedawno w okolicach Warszawy doszło do tragedii. Rodzina Afgańczyków, która mieszkała w ośrodku dla uchodźców zebrała grzyby na terenie ośrodka i ugotowała z nich zupę. Niestety okazało się, że to były muchomory sromotnikowe. Trójka dzieci trafiła do szpitala z objawami ciężkiego zatrucia. Niestety dwóch małych chłopców zmarło. Jeden miał nawet przeszczepioną wątrobę, ale nie dało się uratować. Straszna tragedia.

Ktoś nawet zerwał tego grzyba i go zostawił, więc mogłam go obejrzeć ze wszystkich stron. Miał blaszki na spodzie kapelusza, ale najbardziej ujmowała mnie barwa jego kapelusza. Wyglądał tak, jakby ktoś pomalował zielonymi akwarelami z dodatkiem żółtych, a do tego został malowniczo przyprószony ziemią i kawałkami liści.
