The Sheathed Woodtuft (Kuehneromyces mutabilis) - see how many of these mushrooms have grown over the fallen tree trunk! / Łuskwiak zmienny, łuszczak zmienny (Kuehneromyces mutabilis)

When I was walking in the forest, I saw a huge fallen tree trunk with an abundance of brown mushrooms. There were a lot of them, they grew in clumps, very close to each other. Amazing view! It was humid that day, it was raining and the mushroom hats, wet from the rain, looked beautiful, they looked a bit like jelly, or as if they were covered with mucus.

This fungus is the Sheathed Woodtuft (Kuehneromyces mutabilis). It turns out to be edible, so you could quickly fill several baskets with it without having to walk in the woods and look for individual mushrooms 😉 They are useful for making soups or mushroom sauces.

Ten grzyb to łuskwiak zmienny, nazywany też łuszczakiem zmiennym.

On the underside of the hat, the mushrooms had gills as well as a thin stem. Only the caps are edible, the stems contain too much gulp.

I've found flammulina velutipes which is sort of similar to this, but they only come out around the first snow.
