LADY FERNS ..plus

Lady Fern or proper name, Athyrium filix-femina is a common fern in temperate Northern Hemisphere...

Its attractive shape and light green color makes it a welcome addition to any yard...

I had transplanted these from the local woods years ago. Once established they will spread forming a nice ground cover...

This patch in the back.was started by about three transplants. They need partial shade, in an area that doesn't get to dry.

These I believe are called Sensitive ferns... They have broader leaves and haven't caught on as well as the Lady ferns. Area where you plant them will determine how well they do. Seeing where they thrive in the wild should be duplicated in your yard as best you can...

One thing to know is that ferns are generally deer resistant...

Those Lady Ferns look beautiful there @manorvillemike! I've seen them or I think it is the same kind along the trails here but never knew the name other than ferns. Wonderful photos! 💖
