Some Spring season life!

088.JPG

I love how the sun color's this little squirrel's tail!

A "dilly dally" of amazing Spring colors here so come and feast your eyes!

Not the normal fare of flowers, but rather some of the abundance of new life emerging after a very wet winter.
Our planet is filled with lovely little residents and I will show you some of them here.

045.JPG

A perfect color fit here between the beetle and the flower.
This could be one of the Blister beetles of the family: (Meloidae)

099.JPG

A young dragonfly here and too soon to verify the species!

049.JPG

One of the aloe flowers and I loved the sun highlight!

139.JPG

Now this guy above we know and it is a "Red Basker" (Urothemis assignata)

142.JPG

This is one above falls into the Longhorn family.
(Ceroplesis capensis)

434.JPG

Here above we have a female Carpenter Bee. (Xylocopa caffra)

072.JPG

A little "Cape White Eye" searching for some insects!

149.JPG

Finally, here we have the famous little "Nightshade Ladybird" (Epilachna paykulli) landing on a leaf!

The thought that all of the rain during our past winter will result into an increase of insects and wildlife was correct and now only ten days into the Spring season they are starting to flourish.
Even the dragonflies are early, as they normally arrive during October. So, it seems at this stage that I will get many more species on film and I have already posted one of the new birds. the "Cape Spur Fowl" a few weeks ago.
So, we have much to look forward to and I will do my best to bring you quality posts.

And That's All Friends!

I leave you with this;

Thank you JJ,

Yesterday's lovely sunlight was repossessed by the clouds today making photography difficult, but not difficult enough for me to get an Eurasian Buzzard on the roof.

Many people go blind through life JJ and it's so sad.

Grandkids are always a pleasure and I always see so much of the parents in them.
That's where we score as grandparents, as you and I saw the kids parents as babies hahaha.

As your Autumn approaches, so does our summer lol.
It will be your first Autumn there so note all of the unusuals, as then you will know what to look for in the next Autumn season.

My eldest grandson "Reece" is now at 17 years of age an accomplished Saxophone player.
He takes after my estranged father, as that man could play any musical instrument.

My mom was a champion dancer and our little "Tatum" holds national colors for "modern dancing" if that is what it is called.
So yes even the previous generations shows up in the grandkids.

Blessings!

The kid flips her legs over her back and puts her feet next to her ears in the dance lol.
You are not alone as I also cannot dance to save my life.

The squirrel enjoys the warm spring sun - lovely photo, Zac 🤗

Your insects are so much bigger and colorful than most of ours - you even wouldn't need a macro lens - I love these carpenter bees - they are so big 😉

Cool post, Zac, it shows nicely how spring brings life back after the winter 😊

Good afternoon Hannes,

Like I said to JJ, today we have almost no sun and I think that with all of the cirrus clouds around, we will see rain soon again. The weatherman says on Sunday, but I think that it will be sooner.

That little squirrel is now having her second spring lol.
I think that you guys are stingy with food for the insects up there and that's why they stay small hahaha.

Glad that you liked the post and thank you for the kind support my friend!

Here's a photo of our clouds today for you!

Taken early this morning.

Good evening Zac 🙂

I love such a sky - it looks great with these many little clouds and the blue colour in between, a real nice pattern on the sky 😀

Haha, that must be the reason why they are all so small - we don't feed the insects 😂

Good evening Hannes,

I thought that you have disappeared for the day lol.

Yeah a beautiful sky but those little blocks grow much bigger and they block the sun.
Then eventually it becomes one solid mass of clouds before they break apart again for the evening.

To give you an idea about the the same evening sky, look at this!

428.JPG

We have compost heaps all over the farms here and the insects love them hahaha
You should make a compost heap on your balcony, but they don't smell too good lol.

Cheers and thanks!

Good evening Zac,

no, I went for a ride after work and came home later than I thought, but in a few minutes I'll really disappear for the night 😉

We have such heaps at my parent's house, but they are in the furthest corners 😉 the furthest corner on my balcony is 3 meters away - too close for any nose 👃

Beautiful evening sky Zac, ours was cloudless, but now it's dark anyway.

So, I think that was it for today.
I wish you a good night Zac 😊

Oh okay, so you are not in trouble which is very good Hannes,

Hope that you enjoyed the ride and got some photos.

Yeah, 3 meters away will mean that you guys will have to sleep with nose plugs hahaha.
So sadly your insects will stay small and skinny hahaha

Thank you and tomorrow we will have more cloud, so I will go the beach to get the sunset.

Right on and thank you for the comments my friend.
Oh! @galenkp asked if we could mention 2 friends that he can look at and I mentioned you and JJ.

We hope that you guys will have a good sleep and a good weekend.

Good night and thanks!

Oh no, I'm not in trouble 😉

Nice ride but no photo. I have the camera always with me, but when I only ride for fun in the afternoon I seldom see anything but the road 😉

We didn't have clouds this morning, just some morning mist and they say it's going to be a hot late summer day.

Some really stunning photos.

What does that SnapSpeed App cost?

Yes, I think that's how they do it ;)
The SnapSeed app is made by Google and doesn't cost anything. I use it only for quick edits if I take photos with the phone, which I seldom do.

I don't use the phone very much Hannes and just wanted to know if my children pay for it, as then I can try to help them in a way.
But great that it's free.

My youngest daughter sent a message today that they have now sold the "palace" that they were living is and they have bought a plot with a nice house on it.
So, she wanted to know what kind of dogs I had when they were small kids, as she needs guard dogs on the plot.

I suggested a pair of Rhodesian Ridgebacks and a pair of the bigger Dobermans.
Nothing gets past these guys, but she has to take them for training and they must also be trained not to eat any meat thrown at them by strangers, as house burglars put poison in meat and then throw the meat at dogs to eat.

Just the way that we have to protect ourselves over here.

Cheers and thanks!

It's just a small app with which you can edit photos, but I don't know if they edit their photos of if they use this app, because there are thousands of apps around.

Interesting, how different people have to life: when my parents are at home the door is open, when they are in the other garden, which is 50 meters across the road they usually lock the door but let the key in the lock, and when they drive somewhere for shopping or so they lock the door and hide the key.

Okay, at least I know that they use something Hannes.

I am amazed at your parents locking anything, as do you guys also have burglars over there?
I thought that Austria was a safe country that do not have a high crime rate and the way that you described your parents security habits sounds like they are aware of the current situation.
And it's a good thing as their safety is paramount.

We have high walls topped by electric wires at almost all of the houses here. The gates open and close with electric remotes and there is an intercom box and a camera at every pedestrian entrance.
So if you weren't invited or you don't know the code then you cannot get in lol.

Cheers and thank you.

Maybe I have written it a bit wrong: The house of my parents is practically open for everyone at almost any time. The key is outside, so that if a neighbor brings something he can put it inside, maybe in the fridge if needed 😉

It is only a very small village where I have grown up, so everybody knows everyone and if a stranger would be around someone would notice it at any time.

I think I'd prefer my own village to South Africa if I always had to live in fear.

Now that's what I call a wonderful life Hannes.

Some 40 years ago we could also sleep with open windows and no fences.
We could even park our cars with the widows open and children could play in the open until late.
People had respect for the elderly and if any seated child saw an adult standing, they would get up and offer their seat.

Everything that I mentioned above has been turned around by 100%.

So see your blessings with that small village my friend.

Cheers and thanks!

Great for you, but it always starts in the cities Hannes.
It's a different story here, but we all try to stay safe and to protect ourselves.
Such is life!

The time will come when you have to lock your door in the most remote villages too, but I hope this time will never come.

Oh yes, we certainly also hope that this will not arrive there Hannes.
Let's rather hope and pray that all of these evil cancers of greed and malice will be eradicated.
No one deserves to go through life scared and looking over their shoulders all of the time.
Those that steal a little child to rape and kill them dooms themselves to eternal hell.
To rob and rape an old pensioner lady makes the agents of hell very happy.

Sorry, but these things disgust me!

In the meantime we continue to live in our prisons lol.

Cheers and thanks!

Oh my goodness, yes you are right I did say that and now I understand Hannes.
Our homes are indeed prisons and at night we double check all of the windows and the doors.
Many people even have hidden intruder laser beams in their gardens that's connected to their home alarm systems.

Security is a big money business here Hannes.

I agree send them all to Siberia and the crime rate will soon start to drop lol.

Cheers and thanks!

Nope, those ones will be sent to scrub ship decks in the Arctic my friend!

Billions worth here, as the security companies also rent out 24/7 armed guards that are trained in combat.
So, most of the businesses, malls, hospitals, banks, government departments and you name it also have armed security guards patrolling.

It is said that the private security sector over here is bigger than our police forces Hannes.
But even with all of the security here, the robberies and mayhem continues.
Just recently a police station was attacked and all of their weapons were taken, even assault rifles in their armor store were taken.
Armored trucks that carry money are rammed off the roads and opened with explosives.
Almost like the wild west here my friend.

Yes, you type !BEER in uppercase, but you should save your beer and don't give it to me, because you can only give 1 per 24 staked 🍺 per day.
