The River Called!

276.JPG
A place of zen and serenity to spend some time at on a Sunday.

I have a mix of photos here to delight your senses!

Yay, the heat has cooled down a bit with the clouds and a cool wind sang through the trees. The perfect time to spend some time near fresh mountain water flows.
The chorus of water gurgling music also dulls one's emotions into a peaceful slumber.
Come and have a look!

Another first here, as for the life of me, we cannot identify this blue dragonfly sitting over the water.
177.JPG

This is the land of milk, honey, olives and wine!
181.JPG

One of my favorites is to get the rock reflections in the river.
270.JPG

Look how beautiful this one is.
271.JPG

Somebody dammed the river here to make a pool.
281.JPG

And here is the reason for the pool, as some dogs love to swim.
Especially when the owner chucks a stick into the pool.
232.JPG

Other dog types are more mundane and just enjoy the cool mountain water.
173.JPG

Of course nature also has her own natural fish tanks.
152.JPG

Oh yes, I almost forget. Here is Marian with her treasure that she collected under the oak trees on the river banks.
Choice food for her squirrel family.
374.JPG

So, yet another day comes to an end and we have that special tired feeling. Yes we walked a lot, as that river stretches for many kilometers up to the mountains and every new section has it's own character and things going on.
Never a boring moment and whenever we go there, I have a certain song in my mind. The intro lyrics state;
"Give me land, lots of land and wide open spaces, don't fence me in"

And That's All Friends!

Note; All photos are my own and freshly taken today.
Camera used is a Canon Powershot SX60HS Bridge camera.

We hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and thank you for visiting a post by @papilloncharity

Thank you and it was indeed a great walk my friend.
My old legs are not thanking me this morning due to all of the crouching with the camera, but I simply ignore their complaints :)

Cheers and !BEER

Thank you for taking us along with you today, gorgeous photos, especially of that beautiful dragonfly. Could it be by chance a Navy Dropwing, (Trithemis furva, blouvalvlekie)? I goolgled blue dragonflies in South Africa that's the closest I came to your photo.

Thank you kindly and the Navy Dropwing (that I have posted a few times before) is also a suspect, but I have never before seen a blue dragonfly that also have the blue in its wings.
It looks similar to the "Red-veined" Dropwing ((Trithemis arteriosa) and the Nomad (Sympectrum fonscolombii), as their colors are also in the wings, but they are both red.
There's a few other suspects, but they don't appear in the Western Cape. With this global warming going on many new species of birds, animals and even insects are starting to make an appearance here.

Glad that you liked the post my friend.

Blessings and have some !WINE

Thank you and oh yes, the squirrels love it my friend.
Just walk, or ti sit in the sounds of nature, to listen to the tinkle of water over rocks and to breathe the fresh and clean mountain air is certainly a very soothing experience.
Now and the the far off fish eagle's call reverberates through the skies and one can know that one is in real nature as it was always meant to be. Pure freedom!

Glad that you experienced some delight and here's some !WINE
