It is a subfamily of Lepidoptera with one of the largest species in the world with a total of 11 000 of this species including 600 of which are usually neotropical.

Es una subfamilia de lepidópteros con una de las especies más grandes del mundo con un total de 11 000 de esta especie incluyendo que un 600 de esta especie suelen ser neotropicales.
