MyPictureDay - First Wednesday Walk of Summer - Wild Flowers and Feathered Friends...
It is finally summer andwe have begun to feel some of the summer heat which is a welcome change.
Combine that with some warm showers and the blooms burst forth...

Off We Go Down Golden Willow Lane
Along that golden willow lane is some red osier dogwood which is in full bloom now. Have a look...

On the underside of one of the dogwood leaves I spied a ladybug with it's freshly laid eggs. As i tried to get in closer to get a picture the lady bug moved to one of the spent dogwood blooms which created a lovely picture...

Another freshly open bloom that had some insects visiting it was the beautiful wild rose.
Small Pollinators and Beetle on Freshly Open Wild Woodland Rose
I love these lovely scented woodland roses and they are just beginning to join the abundance of wild flowers around our place.

Another woodland bloom that is starting to open in abundance it the interesting lungwort flower. Interesting because the flower buds are pink then they turn a lovely blue upon opening.

And a bit of sunshine breaking through the bush reveals the white anemone flower.

Also along the edge of the road by the bush we find the white fluff from the cottonwood trees which contains the seed for a whole new crop of trees.

Walking up to the hill top we were graced with a view of ring around the sun. I have heard that this was suppose to mean a storm was coming. There was severe thunderstorm watches further south where the heat built up but it missed us.

One more view of the ring around the sun from the hill top...

Up on the hilltop Bruno likes to hae a run around exploring the new scents of those who passed here before.

Heading down the lane to our house Bruno is still full of energy running with one of his favorite sticks in his mouth.

Up above some seagulls were soaring in the sky above the spruce trees.

And a pleasant surprise we have at home is the phoebe finally returned to their nesting spot above the light by our back door.
I had seem them at the bird feed during early spring when we had a late heavy snow fall and I was wondering why they were back so early. They were checking out their nest then disappeared. I had pretty much given up that they would be nesting there this year but just last week they began repairing their nest and settling in.
I usually stop in the court yard under their nest for morning exercises before I go into the meditation studio which upset them pretty good as you will see with the photo I caught of the male flying at me. I changed my routine and slipped around the other side of the building for that morning routine to leave them in peace.

Male Phoebe Flying at Me Protecting Their Nest
Now when I walk out they leave the nest but don't fly at me for I never stay very long in the courtyard. One morning i did stay long enough to catch the male up in a near by pine tree watching me pretty close!

Awww! Love that sweet little Phoebe couple!
The photos of the ring around the sun really show it vividly. Glad you didn't get the storm though!
I love seeing what's blooming in the forest. Your photos are always excellent and I can almost smell that rose! 🌹
I was so happy to see them back again this year. The nesting spot is right outside our living room window so we can watch them going back and forth to the nest and watch the young ones grow up!
I wish I could capture the scents of the flowers for some of them are divine!
I love that little tail bob that Phoebe's do when they are sitting still. I have had them nest on front porches of other houses that I have lived in, but I have never seen one here, so it's fun to see yours!
