Right at the end of our lane the sights began with our neighbor's horse family out grazing together. The young ones have sure grown!

Peering down on the road I saw a beautiful butterfly with a design that looked like cat's eyes on it!

A while ago I was able to get a daytime photo of the moon when it was just over half.

Then when the moon was full I thought we wouldn't have a chance to photo it for the clouds had moved in and it was raining.
But as luck have it when I awoke in the night I saw a bright light shining through the window. I peaked out the door to check if it was the full moon creating the light and sure enough it was. I grabbed my camera. Here are some of the shots I got...

I found out this first September full moon is called the Corn Moon or Barley Moon aligning with the Native American Traditions of how they see the changing landscape. Normally the September full moon would be called the harvest full moon (that a lot of what I am doing right now, harvesting) but because it appeared so early in the month the October first full moon is closer to the Fall equinox so it becomes the harvest moon. There is going to be two full moons in October with the Blue Moon being on Halloween!

The wildlife in your neck of the woods astounds me. Imagine what it would have been likr with man at all!!!!
That moon has woken me several nights this week! Interesting about how the name changes according to date it appears.
Those horses are real beauties!
What cool shots on your walk, it was too cloudy and rainy for us to see the full moon last night
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk
