hunting in the meadows: bugs and butterflies. macros #301

A few macros of my recent insect findings. Some of these bugs were amazingly crafted by the mother nature -- looking like a jewels!
Some were easy to shoot, others were pretty tricky.

The cover bug (I share two pics with him today) was a mess! Very smart, flat and unstoppable, he made me spending maybe a few hours personally on him (really! no jokes). Eventually he paused to brush (or clean?) his antennae, then I nailed him. Oh, and I found him scavenging the carrot husks that we threw away into the compost heap :)

He had amazing spine, that always changed its colour. From one angle of view it looked like a camouflage, like it was a plain sunflower seed, but from other angles, it shined like antracit, like a jewel. I hope I managed to get his beauty, at least in some pictures.

Seems, a huge strawberry lover. How can such a tiny bug fit it in his belly, I wonder?..

All of these are such excellent shots! What software do you use for touch up?

I use a simple build-in raw editor in Photoshop. for macro shots focus stacking I use PS, again. I dont use LightRoom, cause cant get my head around it, but it has the same functional, all operations can be capplied there... also I heard a RawTherapee - free soft is a good tool, some of my acquaintances use it. cheers! @sustainablyyours

That beetle almost resembles a firefly but it is a bit too wide and hard shelled.
