Roots Challenge

My entry to Amazing Nature thematic challenge organized by @bucipuci. Check Here for more information.

The theme for this week
ROOTS

Trees are connected to the earth by their enormous root system. While walking in the forest on the property, it was sad to see this tree had fallen over, with roots exposed, as a result when hurricane Dorian went through the area.

On the plus side smaller wildlife can use this upturned tree roots with the loosened earth to live in. I’ve see holes dug in these overturned trees where rabbits or foxes make a home.

This tree seems to hug the earth tightly with it’s roots that resemble large fingers. A bit of snow still on the ground.

.

It was after a rain I took this photo. The tree roots manage to navigate around the moss covered rock.

The large roots of this older tree are showing.

Trees are an important part of our existence. They fight to live and search for nutrition as their roots dig deeply into the earth.

Trees are amazing with their ability to clean the air, protect us from the heat of the sun, provide wood for heat, make a home for wildlife and much more.

Location: Prince Edward Island, Canada.

All photos taken by me.

Staying rooted through storms most make it, some don't, always a home for wildlife to find a home.

Beneath the trees our moles roam building their tunnels knowing the safety underground from the sturdy older trees in town.

Lovely mix of rooting systems up in your region Jo.

It does make a good home for the moles and mice in the cavities of an upturned root system.

Thanks Joan for your nice comments and tip.

Have a great weekend.🙂

"The tree seems to hug the earth..." - I like that and the words match the photo very well.

Cool and interesting post about the theme roots, Jo, I like the photo with the wet roots after the rain most.

I wish you a wonderful weekend, dear Jo 🤗🌞

Afternoon Hannes, 🙂

I’m glad you liked the roots I selected. I was surprised to go into my photos and see I had taken many photos of tree roots and got a chance to use some of them for the challenge.🎄

Thanks dear Hannes for your generosity, reblog and goodies. Most appreciated! 🤗🙂

Wishing you a wonderful Caturday.🐱

Good afternoon Jo,

it was a pleasure for me. I don't know if I would find a lot of root photos in my archive.

We have had a quite nice caturday with about 2 C and sunshine. I have gone for a short walk in the morning when it still had -10 C and took a few ice photos. I am working tomorrow and will hopefully find some time to make a post, but I don't know yet how much I will have to do.

I hope you're having a very nice Caturday too, dear Jo 🤗🌞

Those are some very impressive roots on the trees Jo! My favorite is the one on top of the rocks but they are all great! 🙂 💕
