I went with a friend to the Confederation trail in Montague. It used to be an old railway bed and makes a great trail. People from all walks of life can be seen there.

A cormorant bird greets us from the water as we walk beside the Montague River.

It was a warm afternoon to enjoy nature and take in the changing colors of the trees.

Plentiful Mountain Ash berries still on the trees decorate the sides of the trail. These berries make great food for the birds during the winter months.

A Clam structure. Another cormorant waving his wings can be seen between the two shells.

Geese can be seen across the river. Many go South and some will stay around for the winter if they find a food supply.

Although we had a few frosts, these wild flowers are still in bloom along the sides of the trail.

When returning to the vehicle we see a crow sitting on the garbage bins hoping someone leaves a treat.

Morning Hannes,😊

Autumn has been really nice. Mornings are cool but lovely sunny afternoons for enjoying the outside.

I didn’t see the Great Blue Heron by the trail - he must have gone South already.

Thanks dear Hannes for the reblog, tip and gifts.🤗

Have a wonderful week! 🌝

Hi Jo 😊

we have also very nice days at the moment. In the mornings it's also cool and very foggy, but when the sun comes out the day is great 🌞

The Blue Heron has certainly moved to warmer regions.

As always you are most welcome, dear Jo, have a wonderful day 🤗🌞

Between seasons always a nice time to be out with slightly warmer on some days, for us too soon the heat with humidity will arrive and I dive deep away from sunlight under the airconditioner....

Yes, your seasons are the opposite of ours. Too bad we couldn’t split the difference and I would send you some of the upcoming cold and you send a bit of the heat up this way. 😀

I would gladly trade in February/March, I run around Hive looking for picture of snow to dream.... even under the air conditioner!

Wow! Beautiful autumn atmosphere. Love the glittering on the water with that happy bird! Red berries are edible; I would love to try some.

Hi @kaminchan 😊,

We are having a lovely autumn. The red berries can be used for making jelly and wine. They will stay on the trees all winter and make good food for the wild animals. They freeze and thaw on the tree all winter and a few birds and animals can get a little intoxicated from the fermentation. 😀

Aha! Such a good idea! Getting a bit tipsy by eating these berries in winter!! I would really take home quite a big box and put it in the fridge to be slowly enjoyed after each meal!
Making jam with these berries sounds good too! Those birds will probably chase me off the trees!

As a kid, I had seen my dog getting drunk on beer! It was very funny, he could not walk straight! I gave him half a can of beer. I never did that prank again. Poor dog! LoL

I was playing darts at a house one time and the owner sponsoring the game had a beautiful black lab who liked beer. He would give him some in a dish and the dog would lap it up. I never saw him stagger 😀

Wow! I think this dog was used to drinking beer as his owner must have him as his drinking companion. He probably wanted the whole can of beer!! LoL

Yes, i think the dog was his drinking companion. 😀The wife stepped in and wouldn’t allow him to give the dog any more beer that evening.

That looks like a nice walking trail with a lot of things to see. The clam shell was pretty cool.

Thanks @bashadow. The clam shell has grown on me. When it was first constructed I didn’t think it was too interesting until they painted the back of the shell a nice blue.

I was watching a TV program on the Alaskan Triangle and all the mysteries involved. It seems more people (16,000) have gone missing there than in the Bermuda Triangle. Juneau and Fairbanks are in the triangle.
Do you live near there?

Thanks Dee❤️. Autumn is a great time for a walk- not too warm and mosquitoes have gone.

Haha that crow does look like he gets a lot of treats by passerbyers. Is that even a word?🤔

Lovely spot for a walk and photography! I appreciate you sharing them with us.I would have loved to explore further in the forest! Good to see the blooms for ours are all gone with the heavy frosts here.

I could have gone further as the trail will take you all around the Island. After our walk we went for lunch and figured we deserved a nice calorie filled desert after. 😀

We have had a couple frosts but I see a lot of the tree leaves are still green.
